Do you hoard? Do you form emotional attachments to objects? Has it been or is it debilitating?
I've been accused of this, have fought it internally myself but came to the conclusion that often, what really matters is the memory associated rather that the actual object itself.
If it's in your life but in your way, be ruthless. You want to remember it or the memory associated? Take a photo. Then chuck that shit out.
This is fresh in my mind as I just had to get rid of a couch. One that I have/had a very strong emotional attachment to; my daughter was born on it.
So, I took some photos and approached the issue in the only way a man should; with a hammer.
I carefully removed large sections of the fabric so as to facilitate the possible upholstery of a new, smaller chair. Then, I smashed fuck out of it.
Possibly a new branch of the combination of couches & therapy?
Thoughts?
