The broadcaster will stop showing music videos in December, but its main channel will remain on air.

Remember MTV Europe on cable here way back in the day, part of channel-zapping then, also now more n more a thing of the past.

My wife watches ALL the reality shite on MTV. It wouldn't surprise me if Millennial women watching the likes of Catfish and Jersey Shore are the key demographic these days.
Thank fuck Now TV can be watched on a tablet in another room is all I can say.
Kids certainly don't need it for music anyway when the algorithm guides them rather than the DJ/VJ.
I do have fond memories of MTV in 90s. Shows like Up for It and Brand:New were the video equivalent of Steve Lamacq or John Peel on the radio for those glorious few hours where interesting stuff could sneak into schedules packed with Take That and the Spice Girls. Donna Air wasn't bad on the eye either.

Best thing on it was Beavis and Butthead. Far funnier and incisive than it's modern incarnation as Gogglebox.
