The people are rovolting.Rajakapan has gone but the future is uncertain. Some kind of Government of National Unity is likely to emerge. It is likely that deals will be done with the IMF,which probably means more austerity and cutbacks. The people need to get themselves ready for further fights.

I've been reading about it and watching some clips.
The economy has totally collapsed apparently.

Inflation is over 50% and the food situation is dire.

I read this earlier.......

In 2017, when Sri Lanka failed on its loan repayment for the US$1.1 billion (£920 million) Hambantota port development on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, it was forced to sign the port – and thousands of acres of land around it – over on a 99-year lease. China already owns 43% of the massive Colombo Port City development on another 99-year-lease

Interesting the bit about stopping using fertilisers and the collapse of the staple food.

The protests won't stop anytime soon mate. And China will be wanting paid soon as well

Which one? The PM tried to run and was refused exit today? Can
It'll all be Brexit's fault.

No it won't. Rajapraska family, civil war with the Tamils and good old fashioned corruption. Coupled with kleptocrats having no actual answers to problems outside trying to escape to Dubai with the money.......

I was being sarcastic.

Rather than start another thread maybe this one is as good a place as any to show citizens protests in many nations.....

Just been reading that Spanish farmers have started protesting as well.....

Europe’s farmers revolt has just begun – more countries join in

This is no minor sideshow since the Netherlands is the second-largest and Germany the third-largest agricultural exporter worldwide.

What started with the Dutch has spread to Germany, Poland, and now Italy as farmers collectively protest their governments’ destructive climate policies that threaten livelihoods and global food supplies.

From last year but the farmers showed the way....

Farm laws: India farmers end protest after government accepts demands

The move was hailed as a victory for farmers and also as a powerful example of how mass protests could still successfully challenge the government.

WEF project.

That's why the WEF bragged that Sri Lanka was going tobe very rich by 2025.

They have now conveniently removed that from their website.

What happened there should be a warning to all.

Not allowing fertiliser to grow stuff has destroyed all their crops especially their tea.
And their green energy failed horrifically!
