One of the all time greats without a shadow of a doubt.
In the Heat of the night was my favourite film of his, but so many more.

RIP Sidney.

Brilliant. First black person to win an Oscar. Watched The Defiant Ones, In the Heat of the Night and Guess Whose Coming to Dinner several times. In the Heat of the Night was bloody outstanding, as was Rod Steiger in it. RIP Virgil Stubbs.
