Half of Scottish football fans say they have been subjected to sectarianism in and around football stadia, with 81% believing it is a problem for the game.

But they told a Supporters Direct Scotland survey that value for money was "the biggest threat to the future of the game in the next five years".

The annual Scottish Football Supporters Survey had nearly 14,000 submissions.

SDS head Andrew Jenkin said: "Supporter experience is not rated highly and part of that is because of fan behaviour."

The survey also reported that 18% of those taking part claimed to have been subjected to physical abuse in and around Scottish football stadia.

When is supposed nil by mouth action group ever going to diva "show bigotry the red card" day... its like theyre afraid of upsetting someone...

This "sectarianism is a problem in the Scottish game" shite really pisses me aff.

It`s a problem for fans of particular West of Scotland teams. Not the "Scottish game". The rest of us live in the 21st fuckin Century.

Presumably the half that haven’t suffered sectarianism are rangers fans who just dish it out.

My view is that it’s predominantly one club that is the issue, not two, and whilst I might not like some of the things Celtic do they don’t foster a bigoted environment home and away.

I am almost in agreement, Thellick have a small group with the Green Brigade that do.

There's still a large number of the "up the 'RA" brigade within the Celtic support which is equally problematic, although on a smaller scale to Rangers.

I said that earlier in the thread, especially amongst the Green Brigade. The difference between that cheek and the one of the blue hue is you dinnae get 50,000 Thellick Fans signing, "The Referees an Orange Bastard", or that "they are up to their knees in Orange blood". The whole of the Hunnery gie it big licks with the sectarian hatred, one corner of Thellick Park do it.
