Scottish Premiership Transfers & Contracts Summer 2024

Motherwell forward Jonathan Obika has confirmed his retirement from playing, with the 33-year-old now joining manager Stuart Kettlewell's backroom team at Fir Park.

News coming in thick and fast on the day contracts end in Scotland.
Still waiting on the Hibs official announcement.
Don't hold your breath Jack!

Dunno, but I'd take Ryan Jack I think.
Good player but injuries are a real issue and Amos may already have that job.
From mid November he only made 5 league match day squads and got on for 3 of them playing a total of 105 minutes.
Missed 8 of the last 9 games of the season through injury.

Oosh

Would lead from midfield too. Be a heavy wage, probably right that the injury record is too much for us to realistically take on.

Don't think we'll be signing many 32 year olds either tbf

Would take Lundstram in a heartbeat
:friendly:
He's the only one Rangers and Clement will miss.

Would definitely take Lundstram...30 years old, but will be looking for a similar wage to what he was getting at the huns.
Back to English football for him I think.

That was what the wink was for :giggley:.

Stephen O’Donnell has signed a new deal with Motherwell today.

Motherwell are also set to sign Perth Glory full-back John Koutrombis on a free.

Wondered if this would happen and it has.
Derek Adams is back at Morecambe for a third time.

Adams left Ross County in February.
He drew two and lost ten of his games in charge and was sacked just 79 days after being re-appointed in Dingwall.
Adams drew the ire of fans with his scathing attacks on Scottish football - once claiming the Morecambe team he left were '100 times' better than the County side he inherited.
And now he's back at the Morecambe helm.

Dundee have played down reports they are looking to sign Lebanon international Daniel Lajud, 25, after the president of his former club Atlante said the winger was moving to Dens Park to link up with former teammate Antonio Portales.

Dundee United have agreed terms with North Macedonian winger Kristijan Trapanovski, with the 24-year-old being a free agent after quitting Shkupi in his homeland.

Kilmarnock secure Findlay extension

Stuart Findlay will spend next season at Kilmarnock after a fresh loan agreement was struck.

Motherwell are set to sign Kofi Balmer after agreeing a fee with Crystal Palace to sign the defender.
They are also close to agreeing terms with the player
The player is expected to travel to Fir Park on Thursday for his medical and to complete his move.

Premiership rivals St Mirren had also been in talks over a deal for Balmer earlier in the summer.
However, they were unable to agree a deal with Palace and their interest cooled in recent weeks.

No signings by teams in the Scottish Premiership today although I did read a funny story in the tabloids where Peter Grant thinks that Davis De Gea would be interesting in signing for Celtic. Oh ma sides.

First signing in our league for 2 days

Dundee United have announced the signing of former Southampton winger Will Ferry on a three-year deal.
The 23-year-old arrives after spending last season at Cheltenham.

I seem to remember Hibs being interested in him at one point last season

Jonny Hayes has officially left Aberdeen.
Hayes made more than 350 appearances for the club across two spells.

Believed to be going to a coaching post at the Smellies

Bevis Mugabe has left Motherwell under freedom of contract.
The Ugandan spent four-and-a-half years at Fir Park, playing 125 times and scoring 7 goals.

Bit more on the above highlighted deal

Kristijan Trapanovski has reportedly agreed a two-year copntract with Dundee United.
The deal is also said to include an option to extend by a further year, according to Macedonian journalist Filip Mishov.
Trapanovski will arrive in Dundee for his medical once his work permit is rubber stamped, which could take up to two weeks, although the process is already underway.

Drey Wright has signed a new deal with St Johnstone.

They have also signed keeper Josh Rae from Airdrieonians on a two-year deal.
The 23-year-old was a big part of Rhys McCabe's exciting young side but now heads to the Premiership where he'll compete with Dimitar Mitov for the gloves.

Motherwell are closing in on a deal to sign Serbian striker Filip Stuparevic.
The 23-year-old is expected to make the move from Slovenian side Domzale at the end of this month.
The Slovenian outfit offered Stuparevic an extension but has now told them he is set to move to Scotland.
Slovenian sources have stated that the former Serbian under-21 cap will sign a two year deal at Fir Park, with the option of another year.
Stuparevic has previously had a spell in British football with Watford but spent the majority of his time there out on loan at Vozdovac, Pribram and Vozdovac.
He has had spells at Serbian side Metallic Gornji Milanovac and Al Urooba of the United Arab Emirates in recent seasons.
Stuparevic netted seven goals for Domzale last season.

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell is working hard to add to his squad.
He has already agreed deals to sign Crystal Palace defender Kofi Balmer and Perth Glory full back John Koutrombis is also expected to join.
