Hi, folks,

Flying over for a quick few days but won't make the match on Saturday. Going to head to the Scottish National mining museum in Newtongrange on Saturday afternoon after visiting my Dad's grave in Mortonhall. Looking forward to the museum. Most of my family were miners here in Ireland and in Scotland.

Looking to take plenty of photos for future art work and paintings I want to do. Train seems best bet to get there from Waverley. What's the best pub nearby to the museum ?

Think there only the one pub in Nitten , The Dean Tavern

Thanks will look out for that.
When you come out train station you go right for a few yards and take a left, the Dean is a good half a mile along that road. Keep right when you come out the station for a couple of hundred yards and the Museum is on the same side of the street.

My parents are in Mortonhall. It's a good few years since I've been and doubt I'll ever be back now. It's a well run and hopefully still tidy cemetery. Enjoy your trip back 🙏🏻

Mum not great so only heading up to the mining museum for an hour or two. If I headed to the match and would love to, would be away longer. Next time pal.

Lived in nitten, and used to visit the mining museum regularly.

My family were all miners up to my grandad. The guide the last time I was there had worked down the pits with him, and could tell me what pits he worked in. Quite mental as he had been retired 40 years at that point.
