Rumour.

Cannot possibly be skint with a £6m investment….
Hopefully 🫣
theres anotherr £2m on top with the recent share scenario, plus ST income (2k down apparently), but still a wedge to be added on whatever we are allowed to use on the first team from the initial Black Knight Group investment. This is what i took from our ridiculously expensive tanned arsehole when he mentioned it as being a game changer for our club.

Cannae wait for him ta GTF

I think it’s now safe to presume it was a load of fucking shite to justify doing both to the guys at the AGM/EGM.

I hope to Sauzee the support see through this and don’t turn on Sir Dave. He’s being hung out to dry massively. Shame on the bunch of fuckers.

I just have to think its all work in process, although not quick enough.
But surely they are working hard at it, although it doesn’t look like it

Tbf even for me we're cutting it close.
I don't mind needing to still do business come the last week of the window or whatever, but would rather it was filling wee spaces rather than half a squad!

I do think we're looking at better than we have been previously though. Which might be half the battle.

There is also a few let go, so there has been wages freed tae add tae the pot.

Me and my laddie are 100% backing David Gray this season. @1875 first just back has to be remembered. We have to give one of the last living Hibernian (proper) legends time. The fans arnae daft. The board wd get it tight before our manager if things continue as they are. FWIW i think we will look adifferent in 4wks time when the windae shuts

I have a funny feeling we will hear more stuff coming out of ER I think we are skint .
I don't think we are.
£6 Million investment in January plus another £2 Million at the start of the window.
If we were in financial trouble Elie Youan would have been sold months ago.

We are paying the price for the daft project of building a separate development team to support Steve Kean when he was here...that didn't work, so we are now left with too many players, particularly in midfield. Some of them are on good contracts, so will be very difficult to move on, but Nohan Kenneh must be close to the departure lounge, along with Riley Harbottle.

Our biggest problem last season was that we conceded far too many goals, and played in a suicidal open style which left us constantly vulnerable to counter attack and goals. We have brought in an apparently very good new goalkeeper (who I wish was a permanent instead of a loan), and two central defenders...who hopefully will be better than what we had before. We desperately need two strikers in, and cover at left-back/left central defence. We will also have to replace Youan if and when he goes.

I think Gray will set Hibs up differently this season with what he has, which will hopefully make us harder to beat. He has to get the balance right in midfield. Work rate will be high and our pressing game will be better. If we get the players in I suggested then I think we can challenge for a Euro spot next season. I will readily admit though I thought we would have had more new players in by this time.

You’re assuming there’s ever been a bid for Youan. I smell shite on that too.

There definitely was in January, but Hibs knocked it back, very much to his annoyance by all accounts.
I do think though there is something a bit strange about the whole Elie Youan saga. In and out the team in the latter stages of last season, ill for a while, then he gets an unnecessary injury in the last minute of the Queens Park game, which at the time was reported as being "not serious", however he has been out ever since. I like the guy as a player though he is too inconsistent and unreliable to ever have been made a sure fire starter every week. IMO the sooner we can sell him on and get a decent price for him the better.

Maybe it wasn’t so pressing with the incoming investment, maybe it was a shan offer but aye he’s not wanting to be here. I meant more of the summer bids leaked to the news publishing it, I think that’s crap and we have sat waiting on a bid all summer that’s never materialised.

Could be. We'll find out soon enough.

Hoilett and Mko be great for us imo
Mko was a very good player.

Unfortunately we have a busy physio team.

Is it really a risk worth taking?

If the guy can stay clear of injuries...he would be a top player, the guy was class.

I just don't think it's the kind of gamble we need tobe taking at the moment.

As previous posters have said SDG has been hung out to dry. This could end, or at best set back, his managerial career before it even gets off the ground. Everyone at the club should be ashamed of allowing this situation to arise. But it's nothing new, just a continuation of years of decline and mismanagement at board level since Leann Dempster left.

SDG clearly gets that the squad is threadbare when it comes to quality, and he can set them up anyway he wants, but we're still looking like bottom 6 again, unless the cavalry arrives fast.

I worry too that SDG seems to have faith in players that are bottom 6 players at best. Maybe he needs to say that until quality arrives but it's a bad situation all round, just days before the league kicks off.

Perhaps Ellie could be used as part of any deal to get Myko and I'd be okay with that if Ellie is definitely being sold.

On his day Ellie is fantastic and exciting to watch, but with the skill he has there should be more end product.

I'm still confident we will bring in 2-3 before the window closes.

I'm pleased with the keepers and defenders we have brought in, that is why I'm hopeful.

I don’t think we’re skint. I think the owners are preparing to sell.
Problem is mate is who can afford to buy us? I do think they want out though. Perfect time for them to sell if there’s a buyer on the go.

I'd imagine the the Bkack Knights would have sought and got assurances on that *before* they committed...
Let’s hope so. If there’s a way of going forward with them then I’m all for it. As for the feeder team stuff, I would love a couple of players that will eventually be good enough to give back to Bournemouth. No sure if Mckirdy or Rocky will ever make that grade.

They only have to buy 60%, think that’s why they got Foley involved. It’s still a fair point, not many have that money.

Think it explains why they’ve stopped spending though, this time last year £700,000 for a guy in the Dutch second tier, now there’s no money despite the investment that has been brought in.

It'd be loose change to Foley, his hockey team make 250 million dollars per year.
Don't see the relevance to my point? The current regulations mean Black Knights can't buy the club? And I'm not so sure they'd want to be a minority shareholder alongside another yet TBC shareholding group?

They can buy just over half. No specific legislation, each case reviewed on an individual basis. An American just bought St Johnstone so there's hope for us - was more my point.

Reported end of Oct 2023.

"The SFA board are believed to have changed their policy - and are now willing to discuss any approach for a 50.1-per-cent stake in a Scottish club from an existing club owner on a case-by-case basis.
That's assuming it preserves the integrity and increases the credibility of the national game."

Does that gadge own any other clubs?

No, but he has now bought the club as a whole with about 9 investors. It will just take someone to try going for the 50.1% and then see how it plays. Lots of USA cash going about, Edinburgh must be a big selling point.
I think the whole point with Foley and the SFA is that he owns Bournemouth already, I'll be delighted to be wrong and he goes full takeover mode.

Latest from BBC.

"Mykola Kuharevich is attracting interest from Hibernian but it is unclear whether Swansea City will let the striker leave as their struggle to recruit players continues.
Kuharevich, 23, is yet to start a game for Swansea since signing from Troyes 12 months ago.
The Championship club will consider letting the Ukrainian leave this summer, though his exit would leave yet another vacancy in an already thin squad.
Kuharevich has scored once in 13 substitute appearances for Swansea, but netted five times in 15 Hibs games during a loan spell with the Scottish Premiership club in 2022-23."

He could only get 50.1% if allowed but I'm sure other investors allied to him could swing it. Thing is he could treat the club like a nursery for his Bournemouth team.
Only if the Gordons are willing to allow that...which they won't be.

Foley's BK group own Bournemouth....the only way they could get a majority share ownership of Hibs would be if they sold their interest in Bournemouth...and they are not going to do that. If the Gordons are looking to sell...and I think that is a distinct possibility....then good luck to them trying to find a buyer for a scottish club which is now worth three times what Ron paid for it.

In what way a nursery? Players not quite good enough for them learning their trade up here doesn't bother me at all if improves our team.
