Rumour.

32, hardly ancient. Get the guy in Hibs. All the pipedream wish lists of supporters are all very well however my faith in Hibs bringing them to fruition is limited until proven wrong. Did we have a goalscorer last season, no. Is there anything apart from blind faith suggesting we will get one in?

Well said Big G.

What’s “proven” though? One very good season at the age of 32, in an otherwise journeyman career? I’m not so sure. I’d have signed Simon Murray if he was a free agent, think that would have been a shrewd deal, but to pay a fee and hand out the decent contract that goes with it… not so sure.

I don’t think he’s exactly what we need to be honest, we desperately need a target man more than anything else up front.

Exactly why the sheep and that other mob aren't sniffing about him, he's not good enough for a top 4 side.

This
At minute he is a upgrade in goals for
We want a upgrade on a 700k 9 goal striker
Murray is not by all means a world beater bit what or who we expect
Vente was a virtual unknown.ststered well faded bad. If we can have a 32 year old 23 goal scorer on our bench for someone better next season I'll be delighted

I wonder if that’s the issue. He maybe doesn’t want to be a squad player (or wants a longer contract to compensate for that). Dundee likely offer more chance of regular football.
No chance we'd be spending wonga on a squad player, doesn't make much sense. At the age Murray is, he needs to be playing regularly. He's definitely earned that right.

The issue is we aren't interested. I would be shocked if we sign any player at his age, let alone pay money as a transfer fee.
Is that the Royal we ie. posters who don't want to see the guy at Hibs, who on here appear to be in a minority, or Hibs themselves? Pray tell.

Club based opinion mate, not posters on here. I would never dare speak for anyone else on the bounce.

My memory is crap but was it you or someone else who stated that x,y and z in Hibs staff warned against signing a player. Is it the same x,y and z? I requested information on who we were signing next, after attendance at the next Board meeting?

This wasn't me.

Proven is his goal scoring record at every club he has been at !!!, even in his first stint playing for hibs 28 times and scoring 14 goals.
Every team he has played for he is averaging a goal every 2 games, that is proven and is exactly what we need right now

Not the most reliable but apparently this is his numbers.

Simon Murray did indeed score 14 goals for Hibs plus another 3 goals for Dundee the same season, harley crap is it. That's better than the likes of Mixu and Zitelli to name a couple who were also good players for Hibs.

I think as well important to note Murray didn't play a full 90+ in all the appearances noted. He had a baron spell as all strikers do towards the end, he was being played up front on his own by Lennon. Then Murray left, Lennon gets 2 new strikers and we play 2 upfront and start scoring again. I can't remember walking away from too many games annoyed at Murray. His contribution was always there. Anyone that's ever watched him knows he's a fighter who pressure defenders into mistakes, a quality we have severely lacked. Anyway doesn't look like it's happening, can only we have better lined up.

Jacob Farrell from Central Coast Mariners rumoured to be signing for a ‘Scottish club ‘ according to the Mariners fan forum .
LB / LWB - improved immensely last year - still only 21 .

Could be the Gunts though .
Could be us .

Would leave them with 3 in that position with cochrane and Penrice unless cochrane is moving on

I fully expect if we are interested then he will sign for us. If he doesn’t, then I don’t believe we would have been interested

I mentioned in my Ross County Just Back, I had a blether with Simon before the game, saying that many Hibs fans would be happy to have him back at the club, He was pleasantly surprised and said his dad would be delighted if he signed for Hibs again.
