Portsmouth will accept £500k

Interesting..£2m value before the start of last season... wee bit inconsistent and looks like they will take 500k..... some other clubs names there, with bigger pockets than us, but LJ knows him well..... I like the look of the lad! (Also, hes no like 6yrs old and one for the future, or ancient, injury prone and looking for a last payday).

Would be very happy with this. Some very good stats and seems to be highly regarded but seems unlikely. His preference according the EEN is the English Championship.

But there’s also interest from Championship trio Preston, Blackburn and Cardiff City as well as an unnamed Ligue 1 club in France.

The comments on twitter (I know) from their supporters re the £500k were along the lines of snap their hands off. Obviously i would trust Johnstons judgement if he goes for it.
 
In that case we won't sign anyone "good enough", as no one will ever be good enough that will accept playing for a Scottish side outside the OF.

Scottish football is not much of a draw if you can't pay 10s of thousands a week.
 
Let's be brutally honest here.
If City, Liverpool and Chelsea shop at Harrods, Hunco and the Coglous©️ at Tesco then I'm afraid we and the majority of the SPL are looking around Lidl.
Right at this moment I don't think we can turn our noses up at English lower Championship / Div 1 players or even players from other middling SPL sides.
Hopefully that will change with further investment and good coaching from LJ who firstly needs to get the very best out of what we have.
500k would be a huge punt from us as off the top of my head is Cruz at around 700k still not our biggest ever buy?

No bad for a guy that's their third top scorer, leading assist giver and highest rated outfield player last year.

Pompey fans as bad as us it seems.

Sent a message also to a pompey fan and not exact words though similar.
Said last season he had a mare though was never in same postion. There is a player in there just not as good as he thinks at times.

Sounds like he's played a bit of everything in the last season.
Can see numbers for him at left mid, left wing, centre mid, attacking mid and up front.

Alot to be said for a bit of consistency, with other clubs interested I'm no sure where we stand on signing him, but he sounds like the right type of player to me.

He definitely has something about him, a character (something we need).
6ft tall, determined, strong, arrogant, bit of a radge.
A goal every 4 games.
Lots of different types of goal, a lot of them Bourne of persistence.
Worth £500k (they were trying to get £1 million last summer)
Would be the Boyle replacement we were promised.
Hibs fans would love the guy.

Wages and other options in the Championship could prove stumbling blocks.
However, I think Johnston is persuasive and his enthusiasm could be right up this players street.
