Aye n naw. Them doing good helps us all. More opportunities for Scottish clubs in Europe. I want Hibs in Europe that's a football perspective.

He is all about the business and how we can grow the revenues of his club.
He doesn't have the baggage many Scottish football fans have. They start with a clean sheet in his eyes.
Perhaps he is teeing them up before asking for a loan of a centre half.
 
I'm a bit perplexed about Europe and the coefficient.

Yeah it's great having more Scottish clubs in Europe and entering later but the money they make is generally peanuts in comparison to the gruesome twosome and therefore they become stronger and stronger in the domestic league making it even less likely any other club will break the duopoly. And breathe 🤢

I'm not sure big/wee Ron said anything a neutral onlooker would say. But he's not neutral, he's supposed to be one of us!

FWIW the current Scottish coefficient position of 8th is as good as it gets. We are firmly wedged in that position at the top of a chasing pack but we can't catch the 7 top countries leagues above us. All much bigger countries than Scotland. So we are looking at 5 European places for the medium term at least.
I think Hearts have been given a chance to make money out of the tournament this season by playing in the group stages. I don't know if the 3rd placed team in Scotland will get this opportunity every season or if they have just lucked out. If it's every season Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen will need to target 3rd place every season.

As for Ron, he isn't one of us
Hibs is a business to him and he is the owner of the business so he is all over the business.
We are supporters of the club and in turn his business.
 
I think we can all understand the business viewpoint but question Rangers Values and Behaviours on how they function as a club. but maybe that doesn’t matter to RG in business.
Putting business and behaviours aside.

I find his comment in the article of more income means better quality players on the park and more success. When looking at Hibs Lower income numbers from the past years and the players and the product on the park compared to the higher income number’s under Ron and the players on the park.

I am struggling to see how the words used by RG match the improvement of players on the park and success on the park.
 
He really just doesn't get it does he? I wonder if he will be sending Ann Budge a good luck message?

Yep, I couldnae really care less about the coefficient I'd rather see the gruesomes struggling through qualifiers and earni g less money to create a more level, but still highly swayed in their favour, playing field

I'm on the fence, I understand Ron's view as an outsider to our game. But I'd rather he said nothing at all.

As for the coefficient, as much as I hate Hunco and Celtic, I do like seeing Hibs in Euro games. Hearts having group games in Europe is huge for them, that should be us. But it wouldn't be possible without the bigots performing in Europe. Because realistically, even if they never made a group stage again, they still dominate our game and would continue to win most things and share the league trophy.

If they're gonna be here forever and win most things every season. Other than a cup win, we've nothing else to really look forward to.

If they were gone, then it's a different story, the rest of us make our own way and we end up wherever we end up. At least we'd all have 3 opportunities at winning something with at least 1 club guaranteed something. Right now it's possible the 10 of us win nothing ever again. Highly unlikely, but possible.

I hate it, I hate them and want them to have no success at all, but being hidden away in the recesses of my mind, is the thought that I grudgingly need them to do well enough to keep us in with a shot at group football.
We still need to earn it by performing domestically and give us those nights.

I'm with you M. Fuck the coefficient if it means these cvnts getting more money in the guise that it's good "For the good for Scottish football". The only folk that benefit from arsecheeks extended runs in Europe are the arsecheeks.

Does anyone actually think that if Hibs somehow made it to a Euro tourney final the meedja and the bigots would be waxing lyrical about how great it was for the coefficient?
 
If Rangers doing well in Europe (but not actually winning anything) makes it easier for Hibs to attract good players, then I'm fine with it happening. I'd rather a good Hibs side lost 2-0 to a good Rangers side than a bad Hibs side lost 2-0 to a bad Rangers side. Again, it's important that they don't actually win anything. I'm not worried about Ron being a Hibee - Farmer and Petrie weren't, LD wasn't, Sauzee wasn't. Scott Brown wasn't, not really, that time he fuckin demolished Hartley in a derby just on principle. If RG feels Hibs can play better football as a result, I say crack on Rangers, unless you're at risk of winning something.
