Training to have a crack at the over 80's 100 metre record. He needs to get about 16 or 17 seconds. Pretty amazing if he achieves it with no history of track events. He is doing a lot of underwater swimming to strengthen lungs.

Credit to him. Saw him training for his sprinting one time and he was impressive for an old 'un. Go on, Rodney.

Ringo 👍 McCartney 👎🤮
Funny how things change Joe. For long enough I couldn't stick PM. I even had a playlist of Beatles songs where he wasn't singing. His modern catalogue isn't necessarily my taste but the guy is a genius. The Get Back documentary showed that......how good is this performance?

Not disputing his prowess, but as a person, nah from me .

Don't know about Rod, but Jagger was never that big on the drink and drugs. Keith Richards on the other hand...
I dunno. I reckon a lot of it was apocryphal. If Keith had been necking bottles of Jack Daniels all day surely his liver would have packed in.

Out of interest, what’s wrong with him as a person, Joe?
Bit like BKH, just never liked him, just how he came across, I was in the heather mills camp, when I chose a side 👍, the beatles stuff was fine, I suppose . When humility was dished out Mcartney was at the back of the queue , a national treasure, nah, not for me 👎 just my opinion though .
( nowt to do with being english btw 😩🤣 )

Short and sweet but a gig and a half.
I was still in my teens when the Beatles first records came out. There were shedloads of bands around at that time who got a break following in the wake of the Beatles who put British music front and centre around the globe. The sheer volume of their work covered by mainstream artists is testament to their talents and, like them or not, they were/are well worth their fame.

They're not English, they're Scouse!!

I never get the ageist stuff folk come out with with much older performers. They're legends that should be celebrated.

I tend to listen to stuff now that really moves me. For instance China crisis Christian an example. The whole album is just exceptional imho. Cant think of any beatles song that moves me. Each to their own taste but I'm genuinely baffled they are are loved by so many. Of that era far prefer the kinks and small faces. It's not as if I just like one era. My tate goes from buddy Holly and Eddie cochran up to shinedown and ghost I'm not stuck in any era. To me a great song is a great song in any era. Billy Joel's turn the lights back on just a brilliant song to my ears.
Thank Heavens we all don't listen to the same thing. Enjoy what your enjoy but my top ten bands would not include most of the bands that top most lists. Such is life. Was listening to devo this morning. Luckily got to see them a couple of years ago. Just adore their stuff.

Totally. Plus they may be larger of frame and a wee bit slower but the pistols were superb in Glasgow lat year. Glen matlock a hugely underrated bassist. Appeared on quite a few albums in the ten years and toured with blonde amongst others. Dismissing them because of age is not only bollocks it means you miss out on some memorable gigs.
