So a week and a half ago the company I work for went bust and I was made redundant with immediate effect - just 2 days before my expected July pay date. Have received nothing and advised by the administrators to claim all monies due through the Government Redundancy Payments Service. This includes all unpaid wages, holiday pay, redundancy payments and notice period (which can only be claimed once your contractual notice period has expired). They have also advised me to claim for JSA as this will be deducted from any notice payments whether you claim for it or not, so I have done. But apparently the payments from the RPS can take 4-6 weeks which isn't ideal given the missed July wage.
Have any bouncers any experience of this or been in a similar situation? I've been made redundant before but that was done by the book with the Scottish office I worked closing down, where I had all wages paid and got my full 6 week notice period. So had plenty breathing space to find my next job. This situation is completely different and has taken everyone by surprise as the group I worked for was busy, profitable and had a significant order backlog. Seems like disastrous mismanagement by the holding company has taken all the UK groups under. We were given no heads-up by management at all, and basically no warning other than some whispers on the Monday followed by a group Teams call on the Wednesday by the administrators informing us we were all out of a job.
