I was reading on Twitter that one of the Postmasters wrongly convicted of fraud and imprisoned has been awarded compo for the wrongful conviction then charged £37k for bed and board during the time he was in jail. How obscene is that?

I was charged before getting locked up a couple of times, but never after.

How dumb is that . They thought 732 postmasters were all committing fraud 🤡
Was bungling boris involved in the investigation 😩

I would agree that's a disgrace unless ...

The compensation is calculated to take that into account. That is the courts and lawyers know that where someone has been sent to the pokey and the conviction overturned for certain reasons the prison authorities are allowed to make a claim. The easiest way to do this is to include it, or report it, in the total compensation awarded to the punter.

Although I worked for the SPS for a time I've no idea if this is correct. Just sounds moderately sensible.
