Speaking from his home in Holland today, Palsson said: I was lucky Colin Calderwood wanted to sign me and to play as many games as I did aged 18 or 19 was pretty good.Id been with Liverpool reserves, but Hibs gave me first-team football and Im sure when I look back Ill be able to say it was the most important time in my career. I had my ups and downs. I played well for the first couple of games, fell away a bit and then came again. That happens to every football player.
Overall the fans were very good to me, I loved Edinburgh and miss the city a lot. Hibs were a fantastic club to play for. There have been a lot of changes, a lot of new faces.
I watched them beat Motherwell 4-0 on television the other week and the only guys I recognised were Paul Hanlon, David Wotherspoon and Leigh Griffiths. But I am delighted to see the club doing so well, I look out for their results, watch them on television when I can and Im as happy as anyone to see them top of the SPL.

Playing his his 7th club already, I forgot how young he is. I was just curious to see what bouncers opinions of him were as he was emptied fairly quickly once Pat took the reigns. He was brilliant to begin with, in my opinion, but he seemed to just disappear and decline with the rest of the squad.

Could he not have been a good player to have kept a hold of for at least a bit longer? At 20/21, maybe he just needed to recapture some good form like Wotherspoon has had to? I would've had him play instead of the imposters last season but this season it perhaps show you how far we've already came when you compare our new additions in midfield.

Anyways, nice to see him put in a good word about Hibs. Good luck to him.

i think he could have done more at Hibs but his going may have helped other arrive, so who knows. Nice words indeed.

I must admit i was pretty disappointed when he left, he started so promisingly but faded quickly.

Could have done a job for us, but i think he thought he was a big fish because he once passed to Stevie G.

The praise at first was way OTT with peoples opinion of him probably enhanced due to the Liverpool connection. Maybe I was just wary as to why Hibs got him and why he'd played only a few games on loan down south (at Dagenham & Redbridge?) then nothing after that.

He got stuck in which was something we were missing at that time but I didn't see much evidence of football ability and was more concerned about his rashness/lunges. He went slowly downhill after that.

The new Sauzee indeed :kos:

I thought he was promising, strong and willing to get stuck in, but Goodwin bullied him one game and from there onwards he crumbled.

He's like Hanlon/Wotherspoon in the sense that people who underperformed but the right person coaching him or the right people around him he could have flourished.

His attitude seemed pretty poor though.

Not only would he have been your son in law he would have been a Pals son in law too.

How strange.

Some good points and although I never seen or noticed any attitude problems per se but Fenlon seemed very definite on who he didn't want at the club and an issue with his attitude would explain this. Regardless of the goings on off the field, the players seem to be very mature and professional when it comes to games.

Griffiths' attitude and mentality seems much more professional this season and he has come on leaps and bounds. I would stick my head out and go as far as saying Fenlon has been a major factor in this.

I find it hard to believe Fenlon would've binned a young talent (just as Liverpool did) simply because he wanted to bring his own playing staff in, nor do I think Fenlon seen so much inability as a player that he'd bin him before the end of the season without a viable replacement.

It sounds as if his attitude, unlike Leigh's from last season, was damaging to other players and his influence was negative rather than the other possible factors in him leaving (in my opinion anyways). :g:

Yeh, I agree. Calderwood brought him in but clearly gave him no guidance beyond that. All the young players suffered under him & Pallson was no different.

Glad to hear that he has fond memories of us & would love to see him get somewhere in the game. He def showed the potential.

His debut and a number of games there after had most raving about him and rightly so. However the lack of guidance for what it seems and subsequent confidence drop seemed to push him towards the exit door. It wasn't a time for if's and maybe's when Fenlon came in, he needed to save us from relegation.

It would've been interesting to see if Fenlon could've had the same impact on Victor as he did Paul, David and Leigh.

Sent off today for 2 yellows inside 42 mins in NECs Derby match.

The lad had it, showed it and lost it at Hibs.

I hope he's showing it again. Cos he defo has it.
