Good feature on a consumer programme just now regarding pies at football clubs. Morecombe seem to be tops with home made pies at a much cheaper rate than anyone else. Unbelievable really that football clubs get away with the prices that get charged for often mass produced rubbish. Why supporters never stand up to this kind of thing is beyond belief and shows how loyalty can be blind. I have bought the occasional pie...usually when going to a game alone. I certainly could not buy 5 pies for a family at close to or over 15 a time...that's just crazy to me. But if I did I would want something decent. Why do people think it is fine for us to be ripped off at a football match but go off out nut if someone tried to charge that price in a local cafe?

Raith Rovers Pies are nearly worth another season in the Championship.

Vale of leithen pie pre season was the best of all time Imho.

I dont normally bother at ER or most places as its too expensive. 2.90 on saturday at hampden for steak or 3.60 for goats cheese and leek?

Loved the pie roll at alloa too.

I was thinking about ER pies when I was on holiday, I know I know!

Remember the pies of the old days circa 1970s?

Was anyone ever seriously injured when the super heated fat streamed out at the first bite?

I can remember a fairly sore hand with a big blister that came up. I'm not sure though if that was as sore as the scud across the back of the heid for, by then, solidified fat down the front of my clothes!

I think the price of food at ER is ridiculously high while the quality and choice is poor. However it's just as bad at other entertainment venues. The support won't see that as a valid excuse but I bet the caterers will see it as a valid reason.

Goat cheese and butternut squash it was. In a steak pie crust. Only in Scotland :doh

Was at the hydro last night to watch the Harlem globetrotters as got free tickets. 9 a cheeseburger and 4.30 a pint. Crazy prices

Not totally on message but a mate of mine started this place in his front garden on match days and it's now become a bit of an institution round certain parts of Norf Laandan.

Piebury Corner - London Gourmet Pies

Good pies like and worth a visit but get away with your fancy southern prices!

I remember my brother, about 1983, asking for 2 cauld pies only to be told "we only have hot pies". That'll be be the first first time gie's 2 o them.
