Penalties before extra time?

I was listening to a podcast and the person came up with the idea to have the penalty shootout before the extra time. I'm not one for changing the rules, but I actually liked this one. It'll make extra time much more exciting where one team has to go for it and not so safe and boring. Obviously if extra time ends in a draw, the team who won the initial shoot out win. Thoughts?

Wouldn't the team who won the penalty shoot out just park the bus? Unless I'm misunderstanding this I see no reason for them to do otherwise. Sounds a mad idea, but hey as I've often said I seldom agree with the majority 🤷

Aye I could see that being the case and happening, but at least you'd be watching one team going all out, rather than two teams just playing it safe.

Good idea.

Would make Extra Time more interesting but the shoot out itself would be weird with less jeopardy riding on it!

Skipping the extra time isn't a bad shout. Much rather we skipped it too.

Good for players, that extra half hour is actually a lot of extra effort. Good for the fans. That we can get out and home roughly as planned.

Makes sense to me.

No.
