Game will not KO on time. Ground is being evacuated. Not sure yet what has happened.

What - the police planted a fake bomb because some PC lunatics were whining about the cops reflecting reality? Righto.

I think what is is rather more likely is, in descending order:

1. False alarm
2. Hoax
3. Terrorist incident targeting an end of season 'spectacle'
.
.
945 A false flag incident so the police can thumb their noses at some looneys

Manchester polis saying it was not a viable device. So a hoax or someone letting them see how easy it could be to undermine security in this way.
 
Another possibility that struck me was Far East betting shenanigans

Apologies, so used to conspiratorial twaddle, that I read 'massive coincidence' as coming with a nudge and a wink.
 
NIRA introducing themselves to main land UK imho, they're trying to be the new kids on the block in terms of Republican terrorism, they've done some "relatively" small incidents over in NI and although they don't have the support or means in doing something big, they do however have some old big time players who do know what they're doing.

Did I hear on the radio that the terror level had gone up to yellow last week? No idea the significance of that but is there a chance it could all kick off again over there CH?

No, don't think so mate, it's just another bunch of low level groups coming together to fight the so called "cause". However on saying that, it's never really gone away over there, you don't get the attacks on Government targets but they do still have a pop at each other and their own people who don't follow the rules.

Thats not so bad then if theyre only having a pop at each other then. Theres enough tae worry about coming from the other side of Europe without they bams starting again.

You can see why everyone is jumping on the dissident stuff though. It's right up their street(I.e type of device) and it' was probably what the Old Trafford exercise was based on.

IRA decide to go old ISIL style civilian massacre at the closest thing the EPL has to a 'Tim team' (which is not that close but nevertheless an odd first pick). That's really going to be a winner with US sponsors right enough.

By all account these bams are fomenting again but - even though I write after this has been uncovered as a false alarm - this just doesn't strike me as ever having been a likely scenario.

I did think it was a bit odd if it was NIRA as it is OT and they've no previous at football stadiums, however it did cross my mind that it's just a show of force rather than a real attack.

A monumental fuck up by those doing the exercise.

That will have cost thousands in lost revenue not to mention the supporters who I might suggest have a more than valid claim to recover their expenses.

Edit: ITV News saying it will cost millions.
