It's just one of many nations on the brink mate. Interesting times indeed.

We may be heading to another scenario like in the 1920's. And it will be global.

Certainly shapingnup that way. Turkey are the strange one, supplying the drones to Ukraine then allowing arms to pass by Turkey to Russia, meanwhile they have 80% interest rate. Hedging their bets?

A lot of countries are going down the pan and cue the uprisings.

I saw a report about Zimbabwe the other day.Inflation is now running at something like 500%.Money now virtually means nothing and workers haven't been paid in weeks.Whilst Zanu PF are one of the most corrupt govts. in the world.Expect it to go up like a powderkeg sometime soon.

Serbian farmers now taking to the streets in protest. The msm coverage of the Dutch farmers protests has been quite shameful.

My sister worked in Zimbabwe at the British Consulate.

Its been a basket case since it became Zimbabwe! As you suggest it's one of the most corrupt government's in the world. 'Political Parties' are based along tribal lines and Zanu PF are by far the hugest tribe. It could all blow up but it will be an internal ZPF struggle and not much will change.

The Dutch farmers protests have been shameful too. One member of public dead plus accidents and burning hay bales in heatwaves.

Very shameful.

So of course I would say that the MSM coverage which I see up close and personal, is not so bad and generally allows voices & opinions from both sides.

Plenty fruitcake farmers 😀 on Twatter too!

How else are farmers going to protest then?
From what I've seen (and yes it may just be selective) but Dutch citizens seem to support the farmers.

And the bizzies firing live rounds at protestors?

Are they supposed to just sit back and lose their livelihood and way of life?

Like everyone else, in the Hague fe in accordance with local council bye rules which apply here.

And public opinion is on the turn in the cities too as most realise this situation with nitrogen is real and not going away.

Where I also have sympathy with them is that this lardass right wing gov we've had for ever it seems led the farmers upthe garden path with huge incentives to GROW the farming that is causing the problems. Mybank (Rabo) didn't help either by backing the farmers with huge loans in the meantime to execute the gov's guidelines.

It's like kids not accepting they spilt the milk which is lying on the table with only two kids with cream-coloured fingers in said room.

A mess.

Sri Lanka went down the 'green' road. Now they don't have enough food to feed citizens.

But not every citizen is a city dweller. Some folk rely on farming to earn wages.

Be interesting to see how this pans out as Holland is a major food producer.

Fruitcake farmers :sm113:

It will be the pasta farmers in Italy and the haggis herders in the Highlands next. WATCH THIS SPACE!

Bangladesh also has a trade deficit and probably looking for a £6b bail out. And that being one of the most fertile farmlands.

Seems like a great time to pick on farmers eh? Let's put folk who grow the food we need out of business

while half the world starves...how do these politicians ever get in???

Sierra Leone kicking off. Multiple deaths as folk protest the cost of living crisis

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Cuba’s Useful Idiot Convoy.

Is Cuba not already suffering enough? Over the last week, the world’s leading Leftist revolutionaries descended on Havana for a poverty tour of the island.

The big names include: Hasan Piker, Jeremy Corbyn, Kneecap, Code Pink, and Isra Hirsi (daughter of Ilhan Omar).

Most are staying at a five-star hotel in Cuba that did not appear to be suffering from any of the same electrical shortages plaguing the rest of the island.

In fact, Irish rap group Kneecap even managed to scrape together a few extra kilowatts to perform a gig.

Meanwhile, Code Pink flew artists to Cuba to leave behind a “gift” mural.

Labor organizer Christian Smalls showed up in a diamond-encrusted Versace necklace.

Twitch streamer Hasan Piker was spotted wearing glasses worth $1,380 and a $690 T-shirt

Piker: “I met Jeremy Corbyn… Hung out with the kneecap boys… We went out and drank at a local establishment and we have just been living la vida loca… Just peppering people with wads of cash.”

Sophie Fullerton, X: “From Venezuela, Iran to now Cuba, western leftists enter these spaces in a privileged bubble, often staying in luxury hotels while being chauffeured around by government minders who only show the best of the country and introduce them to locals who perform an existence the regime wants to showcase.”

Those fuckers are tone deaf. They can't see or hear anything that is out with their bubble.

Just been reading more about those dafties who landed in Cuba for some poverty porn.

There's a clip online a Cuban geezer made showing the area in a complete black out due to not having leccy.

Apart from the 5 star hotel the white saviour's are in of course.

It's full lights on there. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

No sure how true it is Jimmy but I read that life support systems in hospitals are down.

I just watched the geezers clip mate. The whole place is in darkness apart from the hotel the dafties are in

A by-product of the USA sanctions on the Venezuelan oil fleet. It will be seen as a bonus by some.

Don't you think the tourists should have told the hotel to close all the lighting off so that they were in step with ordinary Cubans though Jack?

To me it just seems they went on a 'look at me' trip and flaunted their wealth to poor folk.

Rather than concern myself with what clothes folk are wearing Jimmy I'm more inclined to establish what the outcomes will be as a result of these folk going over there i.e. will there be additional pressure on the US govt to end or reduce the embargo that is directly leading to these electrical cutouts and food emergencies? Will that then happen? Will more funds/aid be sent over to help the people?

If the answer is no to all, then aye its vacuous and lamentable. If the answer is yes to any then their trip is 100% worth it shirley.

The answer will be no mate. The trip has been ridiculed already.

We all know Cuba is a wreckage. I don't need some pink haired daftie to tell me.

Cubans were rioting on the streets a few weeks ago. I posted a clip.

Why did the dafties no offer them some help?

And put pressure on the American government? Really?

How many working folk are going to give a toss about Cubans when they themselves are struggling?

Saying that I can envision poor Cubans running about in Ballys salsaing to kneecap whilst getting words of wisdom from some fucker wearing a necklace that's worth more than a lifetimes pay to poor Cubans.

The trip has been ridiculed already.
By who though?
I don't need some pink haired daftie to tell me.
I'm thinking you're not the target here though mate
Why did the dafties no offer them some help?
What kind of help? And how do you know they didn't?

I kind of get why folk are cynical but to boil it down, its basically famous folk trying to use their fame to help people being crushed by the American government. Nothing really new here as far as I can see, and whoever doesn't care can just scroll past it - folk that do care can see it and do things like send money, donate stuff, pressure their local policitian etc?

Ah ok we can agree to disagree. Maybe the pink hairef dafties should look at poverty closer to home some times.

But hey 'take this private jet to Cuba' can be the new plane highjackers shout.

My local MP is Ian Murray. And I dont think poor folk in Cuba are high up his agenda.

I was meaning US folk! Agree that our daft politicians won't hold much sway with the US government
Well the way the Democrats are at the moment in the states I get the impression they will care more about this Cuban crisis whilst ignoring the blue collar workers in America.

Again.

They are as tone deaf as the Cuban luvvies.

The media don’t have the Cuban crisis at the top of the headlines so folk going there to highlight the situation, no matter what colour their hair is, should surely be encouraged rather than scorned at. I suppose it’s easy to miss what’s happening there though since it’s yet another example of Trump’s America throwing its weight around at a weaker national just because they can.

Was Cuba not in crisis before Trump was elected?

Never seen many pink hairs bolting over to Cuba back in those days to protest.

But aye I'm sure some painters and decorators over in Cuba are talking about the 'mural' that was left and the gig by kneecap today onsite.

And they won't wonder why leccy was available for the poverty tourists and not for them.

Cuba has been in crisis since their government became communist. Mostly due to the behaviour of the yanks.
I’m sure the population would rather have their plight highlighted by odd people than continually ignored by the folk in power around the world.

Maybe the Cubans would like another type of government as well.

Now wouldn't that be a strange thing.

No Jimmy. This is a very recent massive increase in the pressure and embargo, directly causing the food/medicine shortages and power supply issues currently happening:

On Jan. 29, Trump signed an executive order declaring a national emergency and accusing the Cuban government of “extraordinary actions that harm and threaten the United States.” Specifically, the executive order asserted that Cuba’s government aligns itself with and supports “numerous hostile countries, transnational terrorist groups, and malign actors adverse to the United States,” including Russia, China, and Iran. The order also accused the Cuban government of persecuting political opponents, suppressing free speech and the press, and committing other human rights violations—actions that have been documented by human rights organizations over the years.

“The United States has zero tolerance for the depredations of the communist Cuban regime,” the order said. “The United States will act to protect the foreign policy, national security, and national interests of the United States, including by holding the Cuban regime accountable for its malign actions and relationships, while also remaining committed to supporting the Cuban people’s aspirations for a free and democratic society.”

The order effectively launched an oil blockade on Cuba by imposing new tariffs on countries that directly or indirectly supply oil to Cuba, which led Mexico to suspend shipments to Cuba. The U.S. has continued to try to cut off Cuba from oil by seizing oil shipments bound for Cuba and intercepting vessels in the Caribbean Sea searching for fuel for Cuba. After the U.S. deposed Venezuela’s Maduro in January and claimed control over Venezuela’s oil, Trump declared that no Venezuelan oil would go to Cuba. In late February, as the humanitarian crisis in Cuba created by the blockade reached a brink, the U.S. Treasury Department said it would allow the resale of Venezuelan oil for “commercial and humanitarian use” to private companies in Cuba, although that is unlikely to meet the 100,000 barrels of oil a day that is needed to sustain the island.
