'potted' was always a term familiar to me but its relatively recently I learned it was short for potted heid- a delicacy I assume went out with the ration bookMust be an age thing Emerald. You youngsters have 'broon breed' but that's relatively new. Old timers like Dub and myself know the original version. It's getting rare now because most of the guys that would know the original phrase are potted heid.

so they mashed up the heid of some animal and popped it in a tin.....that sound rank.
