Strange carry on with there disappearance, not read all of the story but apparently just vanished. Police saying she fell in the river but why was her phone on a bench? People saying the river current isnae strong enough tae have dragged her down. Alien abduction?

A very unusual case certainly.
As ever not all of the information the police have will be in the public domain and that will remain the case until they can rule out foul play.

Think her phone was still connected to a conference call or something , very strange

The current is strong in that river and on the day she went missing there had been 3 days of rain, she may not be recovered at all, there's other cases similar where a body couldn't be recovered, if she's under water it could take a while for gasses to release and for her to surface (if the current hasn't taken her to sea), been following the social media sherlock holmes comments personally think the police will know better)

Think Police have said they've checked all camera footage at the start/end of trails which has led them to their belief that she fell in the water. Sadly it doesn't look like her family will get her back.

Last I heard they were trying to retrieve Fitbit data. That will have stopped though the further away she'd moved from her phone? Don't have one but assume they are like your typical smart watch in some of the functionality.

expect it would have gps

She was seemingly a strong swimmer, and the river was supposedly not strong enough to drag her away. It is indeed strange

What I read tae Stu. Mare tae this than meets the eye methinks.

Expert team of divers that were brought in are saying she didn’t go in the water or they would’ve found her🤷‍♂️
So police will have to change their direction of investigation

Police still saying today she entered the water.

Could of fell in banged her head, cardiac arrest, who knows, difficult to swim with clothes and heavy boots to take you under though. Couple folk have fallen in the water o leith lately one wasn't found for 3 weeks.

But they are saying if she had they would’ve found her as current not strong enough to have swept her body away

I think they've said the working hypothesis is that they don't suspect foul play?

Here’s my take on it.
Someone has been walking the missing person’s dog by the river. Witnesses, who saw the person from a distance, say was her because she did it regularly. The human mind is conditioned to accept it must have been her. It also means that witnesses were certain it was a woman.
She entered a Teams call for roughly half an hour but didn’t activate her phone camera or microphone. Or, at least someone with password access to her phone did.
The family business is in a spot of financial difficulty.
All the internet detectives are losing their minds because the police are being deliberately ambiguous in their statements. There’s a very good reason why the police do this and it to do with lulling persons involved into a false sense of security.
I can guarantee the focus away from the public and media is firmly on the friends and family.
The one thing that blows a lot of that out of the water is that the missing person was the one dropping the kids off shortly beforehand although the cctv images are not 100% convincing from what I’ve seen but presumably the kids have confirmed it.
‘Tis a mystery indeed 🤔

Been following this story since she disappeared.
None of this makes any sense. If she had fell in the water as the police seem to think happened, presumably trying to get her dog back, the dog would have instinctively jumped in as well, but the dog was dry when they found it running loose. Her phone was still logged in to the meeting. Why did she put it on the bench ?
Most of all, why has her body not been recovered after more than a week ? Every expert is saying that it is incredibly unusual for the body not to have been found in that time even allowing for the fact that the river was fast flowing. If the marine experts say in the next few days that they can guarantee that she is not in the river then the police have a major problem on their hands.
The police will have interviewed her partner and he will have had an alibi, so that's why they are saying they do not suspect foul play here and it is a missing person inquiry only.
As strange a case as I can ever remember, totally baffling.
I just hope her family get some sort of closure on this soon. Having to read the army of conspiracy theorists on social media putting their tuppence worth in must be horrendous for them as well.

I don't envy the job the police have. They have pressure on them to solve and close this case that has nearly everyone baffled. The police have their limitations as to what they can do. I'm not sure if the surveillance they've examined has visibility on any parked cars in the area to check and see who was nearby at the time. If certain vehicles have been parked close in the days and weeks prior especially at the time she would be walking the dog. If there was a person responsible for her disappearance they've maybe been stalking her for a while planning this. They said it was a route she often did with her dog.

If the highlighted section in your post is right it could be:
a case of suicide brought about by financial difficulties or
the missing person has life insurance which could be used to address the financial difficulties

For the latter you could be looking at foul play or alternatively a Reggie Perrin faking death type scenario.
I can't see a mother going along with the latter which would involve not seeing her kids again and the former seems unlikely given the kids would confirm who dropped them at school.

Still reckon she will be found in the water at some point. Usually this would be as a result of going in to save the dug, but the dug being bone dry is the weird part.

That wee lassie that was missing in Gala that was found? A trans butcher has been arrested and it’s shop is closed and under police guard.
Another fuckin pervert apparently.

The shop has been closed for about 2 years

remember the case of the man the canoe and the insurance money . If they were in trouble financially, who knows 🤷‍♂️
My wife’s been saying from the start. “ what if she doesn’t want to be found”?

Yeah my only thinking around it was maybe the dog went in the river and she went to save it but apparently the dog is ok?! Really strange. My Mrs reckons her partner is giving out Ian Huntley vibes…
Thought taht at his forst interview 🤔

Search has moved to the sea, if she has gone in the river out to sea they may not find her at all, does happen more than people realise.

You would have thought if she fell in the river, at a local dog walking/beauty spot, someone would have seen her struggling to get out?
It is receiving so much media attention , that it’s as if someone somewhere knows more than is being let on.
Sadly, people going missing , is quite a regular occurrence, and it’s not national news everyday.
Poor wee girls. 😢

Dunno if this is more to do with the wee lassie in the Borders or this case but seen the police talking about cracking down on ppl posting theories and classing it as contempt.Screenshot_20230208_134759_Twitter.jpg
