Movie (or tv) music

Hope this is okay to do separately from what’s you’re listening to, some eclectic favourites of mine coming up.

Could have posted this as a piece of music but I think it works best in its original setting with voiceover

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.
Scorcese's soundtracks are always superb. This is probably my favourite.

I love good soundtrack music and how it enhances the film or TV viewing experience which is why I loathe with a passion the inescapable habit of TV continuity announcers chipping in as soon as the credits roll with some witless comment about what's on next, completely ruining the moment. 🤬

Dunno if I'm doing this right, wouldn't say beautiful music but imo they certainly fit the scene. Got a couple

Red the book of this. Wipes the floor with the film. Work of fiction.

But the historical book Where The Iron Crosses Go puts the futility of the 'adventure' nicely in its place....

From the pen of Lalo Schifrin

Probably the best adaptation of any book ever. It's almost verbatim.
I mind my mum and dad watching it when it was all the rage in the 80s. Couldn’t understand the appeal of a show about posh poofters as my 11 year old self would have seen it.

Watched it in adulthood and it’s an absolute masterpiece. So much so I did actually try to read the book but got bored and gave up. It’s one of the all time high points of tv history though.

Always loved this piece. Chilling, haunting but very pretty at the same time.
