Boris Johnson made foreign secretary by Theresa May - BBC News

What. The actual. Fcuk.

WANTED: Foreign Secretary
PROFILE: Must have proven track record of heading up parochial, inward-looking campaigns. Must also demonstrate an utter disregard for forward planning of any form. The successful candidate will also preferably be a lying, chicken-hearted, vainglorious fucknugget, and will have proved this to the world in their last position. Competent politicians with no interest in self-promotion NEED NOT APPLY.

I think someone needs to turn 2016 off then on again.

This post brexit planning thing is a loady pish tbh. You need the civil service to do that and they were firmly in the grip of the remain camp. Can't believe Scottish Indy voters fall for this stuff - it would be exactly the same except more so following an Indy vote. As for Indy voters calling brexit inward looking and parochial - really?

I voted remain but the establishment fudspoutery since the vote is epic. What inward looking proles voting against the interests of the global business class.

As for Bojo as foreign secretary - knows the terrain better than most of them, I expect he'll be fine.

To be fair didn't he run the capital of the world reasonably competently? Also as foreign secretary he will be in different time zones as David Davis conducts the real negotiations.

Gideon away :bye

Gideon sacked. Told by May she didn't want him at all in her cabinet.

It is the financial capital is it not?!!

I said his campaign and rhetoric was. I'm not passing judgment on every voter. Come down offa that high horse, buddy.

Capital of the world? Have a word.

Wow. I presumed you were being tongue in cheek, having a joke at the expense of Londoners, especially in the media, who act like its the centre of the universe.

Just to clarify I wasn't meaning London the capital of the world in that it is the centre of the world. I mean in the sense that London of all the capital's in the world is regarded as one of the top capital's in the world if not the top.

Is there anywhere I can vote to get off this planet? This one is clearly fucked!

He was winner of The Spectator’s President Erdogan Offensive Poetry competition, a couple of months ago and here it is:

There was a young fellow from Ankara

Who was a terrific wankerer

Till he sowed his wild oats

With the help of a goat

But he didn’t even stop to thankera.

In the right job now then. FFS.

and the context to that competition was....

which is worse, Boris or someone who is chummy with the rising totalitarianism which provided that context?

Boris didn't run London that well at all. I could go into some detail on this, but while he wasn't an abject failure in everything, he fudged almost every project.

To be honest the mayor is really an upscale transport commissioner, and if you've travelled round London recently you'll know it's hardly great for that. He relaxed planning laws, ostensibly to create more housing, but in fact removed constraints to developers (only large ones, natch) on provision of affordable accommodation.

Having said that, Foreign Secretary isn't an important post but it's a high-profile one. I'd say she's given him just enough rope.

I suspect the UK is being lined up to be an offshore, money laundering tax haven. It was most of the way there anyway.

Gimme strength: how can this buffoon be put forward to represent our country? Especially in a position presented internationally..... Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson; they call him.... another Eton boy

If there is anything good to come out of it all; Slimeball 'Ozzy' Osborne is away; tfft!

But sadly Jeremy the Hunt is still sniffing around.....
