Man city banned from Champions league for next 2 seasons

Pep had already suggested he might be sacked if he doesn't win the CL this year!

It'd be a bit of a sore one if City DID win it - then couldn't defend their title because of this ban ?

I cannot make up my mind if it is good or bad. For example, if a team is expelled because it is found the owner is funding their income...but they are not falling into debt..then how does that become a problem? I mean I don't like the fact guys like liar king and so on can come in and pump money in...but then again where do we draw a line? Surely if Gretna's owner was still alive they would also run foul of this rule as they could never get the gate money to match their ambitions? And likewise if Hibs owner started putting money into Hibs, would that mean we would also run foul? I know we don't have the debt..well actually Ron did pay off some debt by buying into the club.

Anyway while I hate seeing some clubs miles ahead financially I am struggling to know how someone paying the debt..so long as it is paid and not transferred somehow to defelct problems...like Hearts done..then how is it wrong? Or am I not understanding the situation?

Ps I have little or no interest in either Manchester clubs

Thought this was quite funny...
‘This is how it feels to be City
This is how it feels to be small
This is how it feels when your passport’s back in the drawer’

There's no evidence to suggest the Lying King put in any of his own money into the huns, he almost said as much in court ... although there's an obvious issue there, did he lie or did he put money in? Did he get money out of South Africa illegally to buy the huns or could he not get money out to save the huns? Neither wonder your average sevcovian canny keep up!

He suckered mugs into pumping their money in!

I think the money rules were brought in to save the old money football club's that were traditionally at the top and doping their stay there. Man City arrived at the top table too late. Tough luck.

Great news.
Disgusting club with so much dirty money.

Dont understand how Chelsea are not banned also.....losing hundreds of millions every year.

Man City will probably win an appeal however.....as so much dirty money involved at the top end.

It'll give someone else a chance to bid for it i suppose though its hard to imagine all of the top clubs are much different

Pretty sure PSG are run the same way as City, guessed they’ve picked on them as they’re a smaller club.

They’ll get away with it on appeal. Sure PSG did?

VW were paying more to Wolfsburg for shirt and stadium sponsorship than a huge club like Bayern were getting.

Glazers using little of their own money to finance Man U spending.

Teams signing players on loan initially with option to buy because their current season spend doesn’t allow them to pay another fee.

Fukn yawn. Modern fitba....

Not sure about City being a disgusting club. Disgusting owners, the previous one wasn’t great either, but they’re a terrific club with great history and fans who know a thing or two about barren spells and humiliation.
There will be plenty of supporters who think the way their club has been run as being wrong.
