Klidge Away

Boyle has 8 goals and 1 assist so far this season, Bowie left on 9 goals and 3 assists, while it’s fair to say neither have turned in the best of performances in certain games, both have been contributing in front of goal and probably deservedly considered the starting options. Both are far more tried and trusted options than Klidje. That Bowie’s departure isn’t viewed as an immediate option to give Klidje a run of games says it all IMO… not just from Gray’s perspective, but others at the club and the player himself.

It’s clear from David Gray’s comments yesterday he felt the player needed time to settle and adapt, that’s his prerogative as head coach and absolutely none of us know or can say any different. Seems like he’s not really settled or adapted if he’s happy to go out on loan already.
Sounds about right.

Klidge missing from Randers squad.

Hes listed as inactive for reason he's not included.

Pretty strange.
Maybe he’s taking time to “acclimatise” again? Strange one though, I thought he would at least make the squad for someone they’re keen on buying.

Boyle has 4 pens though.

I really like what I saw of Klidje, but I think the main problem is literally that he's a bit small for our league where you get pushed around, hope he has good luck in Denmark, he's too good to sit on the bench all the time
He's here ,he's there ,he's every fkin where,,,
Mickey Weir !! 😁

I don’t get the whole discounting penalties thing, it takes a fair bit of confidence and composure to score one. A goal is a goal.

All true, but, if your main striker has scored four goals and zero assists from open play all season he has to be bringing an awful lot more to the team.

I don’t see it.

Makes a change from all the penalties he's missed over the years.
Not been the most prolific from the spot.

Scored 21 and missed 5 for Hibernian. Scores 80% of them, I’d say that’s reasonably prolific?

No argument from me he’s underperformed this season, I think he’s done at this level.

It’s not all on him, none of the forwards have been productive. I’m sure someone will whip out and xG stat to suggest otherwise, but despite the made up software stats we don’t create enough clear cut chances in a game. Bowie when facing goal in the box showed he could score, Klidje same, Boyle’s not suddenly forgotten how to score goals… the way we create chances doesn’t suit these players.

Maybe some of the ones he’s missed have been pretty significant, there’s one in a derby a few years back that sticks out.

I wonder if a few were relatively close together. Made it feel like a pattern maybes.

It really does feel like more than 5. Did we maybe have other kick takers all missing penalties too? Swear we miss loads 😅

Would that make Tavernier a striker?
I think a strikers stats from open play mean much more.
You certainly don’t have to be s striker to take penalties.
Riordan wasn’t the best at pens but not many strikers could come close to the goals he scored

Boyles penalty percentages are up there with the best.

Ronaldo scored 181 from 216 83.8%
Messi scored 112 from 144 77.8%

Not the best, but the Huns will think simply the best

Tavernier 69 from 86 80.23%

Finally Rodger Federer only won 51% off all shots played in his career. But he won the ones that counted.

Even the greatest miss.
