Bit of a cvnt for him eh?GrumpyJoe will reckon this is a fix!
Never hides? That’s a bold statement wouldn’t you say ? Hide and seek champion many times in his time here.Probably the right choice all in.
Never hides, even when tbe going is tough. Doesn't always work, but he's always there
I think that's unfair.Never hides? That’s a bold statement wouldn’t you say ? Hide and seek champion many times in his time here.

Dont talk shite. Never hides, always shows for the ball and, despite his looks, is nailsNever hides? That’s a bold statement wouldn’t you say ? Hide and seek champion many times in his time here.
That is just utter pish.Never hides? That’s a bold statement wouldn’t you say ? Hide and seek champion many times in his time here.
That's not really his job though is it?How many goals has he scored?
Being hyper critical he could get into the box a little more often when play allows and start shooting some more. Agree though, definitely one of our better players and his team mates obviously agree. That's not really his job though is it?
He has scored more for Hibs than Dylan Mcgeough ever did though and I'd say Joe has a similar influence on the field. It's rare I'm not impressed by his work rate and commitment.
I think he has gotten better at getting the ball forward too as the only valid criticism I used to see about him is that he passed the ball sideways or backwards when it was the easier option. That's no longer the case.
He's vastly under appreciated.
Spot on, one thing hee cannot be accused of is hiding… i always said if he got the freedom to play further forward after maloney then he would be far better, which imo has been proved.Dont talk shite. Never hides, always shows for the ball and, despite his looks, is nails

I'd maybe agree if it was player of the second half of the season, but Newell deserves it for his consistency throughout IMO.He’s been very consistent and has improved since Jeggo came in. His in-swinging corners are a real threat. No problem with him winning POTY though I’d have given it to Youan or Nisbet.
I'm fine with Joe N. winning the player of the year. He’s been very consistent and has improved since Jeggo came in. His in-swinging corners are a real threat. No problem with him winning POTY though I’d have given it to Youan or Nisbet.
You’re right about him not been effective all the time. Majority of his time he’s been here he’s been very ineffective. However he mucks in so everything’s ok.Nah, doesn't hide.
Hasn't always been effective all the time, but he's always been there mucking in.
I've been fighting his case the whole time he's been here, can't believe people can't see he's a baller
Its not unfair. Hes been posted missing a lot of the time since he signed for the club.I think that's unfair.
Prior to signing Jeggo he was basically playing as a defensive mid and was often shackled to a fairly small zone. Jeggo's signing has released Newell to play further forward in a roaming role where he's really come into his own.
You’re right about him not been effective all the time. Majority of his time he’s been here he’s been very ineffective. However he mucks in so everything’s ok.
The level of acceptance within the club is clearly in the gutter.
If the answer is Joe Newell then god knows what the question is.
Each to their own. Given the majority on here have Newell there or thereabouts suggests that you're wide of the mark. Its not unfair. Hes been posted missing a lot of the time since he signed for the club.
I can’t recall any particular game he as a centre midfielder has grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated proceedings. When the going gets tough he does his disappearing act pretty consistently.
Having a decent game against Hertz on the odd occasion doesn’t cut the mustard Im afraid.
Far from being daft There’s been many occasions on here posters have been critical of him going missing. The ’ just backs’ and following up posts have been full of them. Threads have been full of this type of thing.Joe Newell have been consistently our best player this season and is well deserving of the award. To suggest he doesn't get involved or indeed, get stuck in, is just plain daft.
That might be the case but obviously I’d disagree. Each to their own. Given the majority on here have Newell there or thereabouts suggests that you're wide of the mark.

I’m focusing on the going missing part of things. As you said it’s been pretty well acknowledged he’s a bit of a hide and seek champion. That’s my point. You also said:
If you read my Just Backs you will see where I have said he went missing but also where he was one of or our best player. I don't remember threads being full of him going missing nor do I remember him doing his disappearing act pretty consistently?
I hope this doesn’t come across as “ Uber fan “ here, because I don’t go to many away games these days , but are you judging him from watching him on the telly box?Far from being daft There’s been many occasions on here posters have been critical of him going missing. Exactly, been times when he needs to calm downJoe Newell have been consistently our best player this season and is well deserving of the award. To suggest he doesn't get involved or indeed, get stuck in, is just plain daft.
Not being involved “all” the time is nothing like “hiding”I’m focusing on the going missing part of things. As you said it’s been pretty well acknowledged he’s a bit of a hide and seek champion. That’s my point.
In short , posters who say that he doesn’t go missing in games are simply wrong. This has been backed up by yourself in your post match reports.
Home and away season ticket holder so I’d say my point has plenty of substance to back up my argument.I hope this doesn’t come across as “ Uber fan “ here, because I don’t go to many away games these days , but are you judging him from watching him on the telly box?
Because at the games it is so obvious how often he makes himself available to receive the ball , often in very tight positions . To claim he hides in games is just ridiculous.
Folk claiming he is hide and seek champion are simply not paying attention to the game . Nobody is claiming he is the complete football player who influences all the game all the time . As I have said before , if he did , he wouldn’t be playing for Hibs I’m afraid.
I think you may be confusing him with Henderson
So am I and disagree completelyHome and away season ticket holder so I’d say my point has plenty of substance to back up my argument.
