Mind we've got a new Portuguese assistant manager which might help to get more out of him, if he's still not fully settled in yet or there's been a language barrier up to now

This was my understanding, that he'd really struggled with settling in and the language barrier had been a problem. Same person who told me that said that Youan's upturn in performances coincided exactly with him getting the hang of the language and therefore becoming more confident in the dressing room and in training etc.

I think Tavares has been too weak on the ball when I’ve seen him.
That said his first league game, he lasted 60/70 ish minutes and while he didn’t look great, neither did he look way out his depth.

Pure supposition on my part, but I reckon WeeLee probably destroyed the confidence of the younger players in much the same way as Butcher did with Alex Harris.

Jair and Elias need to play their part if they’re gonna get their careers back on track - it’s not all down to the coach.
FWIW, I think we might yet see Elias back at ER and hopefully he can do what he did at Fir Park.
