Probably quite topical. What's the best way to insulate the ceiling of an unconverted bungalow?

I feel like I could do some more basic options myself, once it cools down. I suspect now is a good time to get it done as it'll pay for itself quickly.

You will need to get into the attic space and remove the old insulation. Then buy rolls of new rock wool.

But get goggles, gloves and long sleeves. Rockwool is nippy

Did it in my loft a few years back, not a pleasant job. You can get these brackets now that clip onto the joists so you can put loft boards over the insulation… very important to not squash it down or it loses its effectiveness. Taking out the old stuff is probably worse than rolling out the new, but wires etc need to be noted

No any more, it’s non itchy now. Might need gloves for the auld stuff mind. Dunno if it’s still a thing but you used tae get free insulation. I got mine done for nowt a few years ago.
