I wonder what the outcome would be if Hibs had asked the SFA for a week off, a winter break, and then it transpired that we were suddenly competing in a friendly tournament?

Two or three weeks ago Celtc had been allowed to postpone an SPFL fixture against Kilmarnock because they had asked for a week off to take their team to Malaga for a break. The SFA agreed and, i`m assuming, so did Kilmarnock. Now it appears that they are, in fact, appearing in a tournament in Turkey. Are we supposed to believe that this friendly competition just happens to co-incide with their 'break' and they 'just happen' to have been invited? Or is it more likely that they were asked a while ago and lied to the SFA, SPFL and Kilmarnock about the real reason for their winter break?

Even today in the press, Lennon is bleating on about how his players are tired but then defending their Turkey jaunt. Tired but going to compete in a four-way cup competition, a fuckin friendly tournament at the expense of their SPFL fixture. What utter disresepect. To their opponents, to the SPFL and to all the clubs that hold our league competition in high regard and as something to be respected.

If they have lied to the SFA, SPFL and Kilmarnock, they should be told, immediately, that they will NOT be competing for any cup in Turkey but will fulfill their league fixture. If they didn`t lie then why was the truth of their match postponement not made public at the start. Why were we told they were taking a break in Malaga?

If Hibs tried the same would we get away with it? No, we wouldn`t, but then i dont believe for a second that Hibs would hold our domestic competition in such contempt that we would even think about doing what they have done.

Did we not postpone a league game 2 seasons ago for a friendly with Sunderland?

Anyway, that's not really the issue here; Celtc are scum. Always have been, always will be.

If ever a manager suited a clubs ideals and ethos; then it is Neil Lennon & Celtc.

I'm pretty sure the rules allow you to postpone a game at the start of the season [I believe this was introduced to allow the bigots to play glamour money spinning friendlies. I didn't think they could do so later in the season but perhaps you are allowed 2 postponements now.

We could do it if we wanted to as well.

Are you sure they told the SFA/SPFL that they were having a break though.

It was certainly reported in the media that they were taking their squad away to Malaga for a winter break.

I know clubs can arrange friendlys near the start of the season, we did it ourselves a season or so ago but to arrange to go to a friendly tournament during the busy New Year period is just showing contempt for our competition, imo......and i can assure you, two weeks ago when it was announced they were postponing this match, nothing was said about taking part in a tournament in Turkey.

The SFA say that clubs can arrange to have a small winter break if they wish. I assume this an arrangement to allow players to rest and recover. I dont believe it was agreed so that clubs could arrange money-spinning friendlys to replace league fixtures and as far as i`m concerned it is the Soap dodgers showing utter contempt for our league. Just my opinion of course...:lookaround:

EDIT..I cant find a reference to Malaga admittedly but this was the announcement from December 2nd.

I was checking for revised fixtures to update the calendar on my phone a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that our game away to Inverness that was scheduled for 1st February has been postponed, with no rearranged date available as yet. :dunno:

I hear what you're saying but time spent thinking about this is time I'd never get back, so no thanks. F*** Celtc.

League cup semis are that weekend

A word on the pantomine at Celtc Park. Yesterday they announced on their website that the flag and banner ban imposed by St Johnstone and the Police had been lifted following discussions with both. Saints and the Polis denied all knowledge of 'talks'. Hmm, strange.

Turns out they`d phoned ICT instead. So, not only can the dim twats not spell, it appears they cannae read either.
