What would be the model you would want implimented?

I hope & dream of the Nordic Model, to remain Scotland but become a 6th Nordic country. Progressive taxation, poverty all but eliminated post tax, best run governments, excellent free at point of service Education, Universal heathcare, Welfare State in general. A wonderful mix of almost pefect ratios of socialism, free market, unions, liberalism, all the things that make up the whole of society.

And summer football.

Thoughts?

Lots of social issues in Nordic countries being ignored but there are aspects that interest me.Germanic model also worth choring aspects from

All of this, plus the abolition of Sellik, Sevco and the Gunts. tbutchert

i'm wary of trying to parachute a model in - however that said the common weal project (link) has been looking at a lot of these issues and draws heavily on the Nordic and German examples for inspiration on what a new Scotland should be looking at and how it could evolve. I recommend it.

Would not want us to implement exactly any other countries model tbh, but can certainly see the benifits of "copying" certain aspects of both the Scandic and Germanic yins. And sorry K, but if? If? Don't ye mean when mate?

The Scottish, even British model has some very good points.I'd be looking to gradually change things to incorporate Finnish education philosophies with Germanic industrial/workers policy and @egb's Mondragon deal from The Basque region.Norways capacity to develop a sovereign wealth fund and Scotlands historical capacity for thinking/invention.

You awake the morning after the referendum. Scotland voted no. You turn on the telly and are greeted by David Cameron's smiling face.

What do we want?

Gradual change!

When do we want it?

In due course.

I'd settle for that, or Switzerland which gets to a similar rosey outcome by a different route. Given Scotland has oil and dodgy banks, either approach seems a candidate :giggle:

Should the % of GDP spent on the public purse be greater or smaller than it is now?

It should be greater, until the British share of our debt be resolved.

Then it`s up to us.

You MUST see that simple of all equations.

I know I ain`t reaching you K, however, I`ll persist. For now.

In fact, I truly don`t believe that you believe the pish that you are posting.

If you do.....Top trolling. :applause:

If not? :dunno:

Smaller. Much smaller.

So where do you propose we cut?
