So fellow Bouncers where are we jetting off to this year?

For me after going to Portugal every year for the past three years, to the same area, hotel etc which has everything for my Son, this year after losing my job due to COVID we are going to Dorset for a week, looking forward to seeing The New Forest, Jurassic coast, Sandbanks etc.

Not long back from a delayed Honeymoon in Mexico. Grannies Healin’ Hame for us and the kids in July. Got family joining us from England too which will be good so really looking forward to it

Nice one mate, when did you get married? I take it your honeymoon was cancelled previously due to covid?

Yeah that’s right, married in June 21. Mexico had no travel restrictions and no forms so it was like normal. Dorset will be great too, Sandbanks is meant to be stunning

Congratulations to you and your Wife. Yeah really looking forward to it, we have friends that we met out in Portugal that stay in Christchurch so we are spending a couple of days with them.

Banff is great mate, stayed there 14 years. Spotty bag is a must 😉
We stayed at the caravan park at MacDuff a few years back. My laddie had his instrument with him and found there was a band in Banff - Deveron River Brass. He asked if he could pop along for a blow at their rehearsal. He was that good he was asked to play as a guest soloist at an upcoming concert 🤣. Couldn’t do it as we were leaving before the concert date.

Croatia in about 4 weeks, can’t wait. Also going to Lefkas in Greece near the end of August. Taking advantage of the jubilee weekend to get down to Carrick and will also be back down there as usual in July.

Since leaving the travel industry I think I appreciate getting away more. Maybe Covid helped that feeling but I’m taking as many trips as possible this year.

Egypt it Mauritius in August.
When you're in Mauritius look out for this guy. One of the best tours I've been on while on my travels. I'll not say too much but the tour started with a visit to his house where we were introduced to his mum :22: then he got a huge long pole with a machete on the end and chopped down a fresh coconut for us! He was the centre forward for the Seychelles in World Cup Qualifying games. He's incredibly passionate about his island.

Edit: Ignore the above. The guy is in the Seychelles not Mauritius :doh1: I was at both on the same holiday and they're next door to each other!

I'm not long back from 10 days of relative luxury in an all inclusive in Tenerife. Great holiday, we were only getting away from the house while our new kitchen was being fitted.

In about a month we're off for a week to a caravan in Sunny Dunny while our bathroom is getting done.

Are they still doing AI in Tenerife then? Seem to have knocked it on the head in the Balearics or limited to 3 or 4 drinks with dinner.

Talk of the wash hoose when I was there.

The 6 drinks rule is only in force in certain areas of the Balearics, Shagaluf and other places where you'd expect younger people fueled by booze and sun to make a nuisance of themselves. The thing to look out for in holiday adverts is All Inclusive Meals. You're allowed 3 with lunch and 3 with dinner.

Apparently there are no plans to introduce it to other parts of Spain although it will be kept under review.

Just back from a weekend in Nimes with the missus. Booked it on a whim as return flights were £15 each. Would definitely recommend it for a weekend away, plenty going on, a Roman arena and countless other Roman sites, plenty quality places to eat and drink and beautiful weather. Only 40 minutes or so on the train to the nearest beach as well (think it was about 2 Euros return) if that's your thing. Certainly been missing my coffee and croissant to start the day this week, not to mention the wine at lunch...

Villa booked in Lanzarote with the kids in tow this time in about 8 weeks. Think we've done Playa Blanca about 6/7 times in the past few years but its great for the kids and you know what you're getting weather wise (cue it pishing down now I've said that...).

What I have noticed is the cost of car rental has sky rocketed. 3-4 times what it was pre COVID.

Thank you mate! Appreciate that. Have you moved down to Manchester now?

Lovely city.
Stayed there for a few days 30 years go when I was inter-railing around Europe myself.
Hope you enjoy it.
Found Pest to be more lively and loads of nice eateries.
Buda had a castle…….

Or it may have been the other way around.
