The facts are that with wealthy benefactors and AberDNA & FOH, we are falling behind our two main competitors Aberdeen & the Gunts.
I've bought shares directly from the club (all of £200!!) but despite feeling I ought to I just can't commit to HSL. Rightly or wrongly for me it's the 500K we are repaying a very very rich man each year. Indeed someone heavily involved in HSL conceded that that is the main obstacle getting others to commit.
However, I'm now getting concerned that with no rich benefactors and with HSL well behind AberDNA and FOH we are going to struggle to remain competitive in the market for players.
Therefore I am facing the fact that for supporters like me just buying a season ticket isn't enough.
Personally I think we really need new ownership but that doesn't look likely anytime soon. HSL for me needs a new name, rethink on strategy and relaunch.
Do you currently donate monthly or like me don't? And what needs to happen for you to consider it?
Or are you content to just PAYG or buy your season ticket watching the sheep and Gunts pull ahead?
