Ultimately I agree but in origin this is not what it's about, though maybe for some today.

The X is not (originally) an 'ex' it's a Greek 'Chi'. XP, or Chi-Ro is an ancient representation of Christ, and thus Xmas originally an abbreviation.

I suggest very few know that fact
It's always struck me strange how it irks me when religion is not my bag, and deep down it makes no difference to me.
Where as believers like yourself don't seem to mention it.
It's a bit like when pundits call us Hibs. I aye moan at them " it's Hibernian to you !,"
