If the rumours of fresh investment is imminent then maybe now would be the time to try something different. I have my doubts though about any fresh investment. After last Saturday's cup exit Hibs depressed the fuck out of me and I felt angry. Tonight I feel quite concerned as David Gray looks like a man without any plan B. The squad to me looks decent and a different manager or coach better utilises it.

The new manager...maybe we've got our wires crosse here :) I want a new manager and understand the wish to clear out the backroom staff, I would as well. I just think there is a place for Gray if he's wanted and wants to stay.
 
Manager's situation, along with everything else, will be assessed and decided at the end of the season.
Results will determine David Gray's future as Hibs manager, and where we end up in the league.
Four and a half months of football still to be played.
The priority right now is getting as many first teamers back fit and available to play as quickly as possible, then hopefully a couple of new faces in the door by the end of January.
Players who will actually improve the squad, even just loanees till the end of the season.
We need to come together to try to salvage something from this season.
Cup defeat at East End Park last week-end was dreadful...more the manner of the defeat and our inability to compete properly.
Gray questioned this lack of a competitive edge again today in the after match press conference, which is a huge concern.

Agreed to an extent but it isn't the squad that needs improved this window. What's required is automatic improvement in quality that goes straight in the team. A couple of the quality of Myziane Maolida....

I'm not going to put the boot into Gray because he was a very good player for us and of course gave all of us our happiest ever Hibernian day.

What I will say is this: this team plays absolutely turgid shite football, route 1 hoofball going forward, and horrific, worse than pub level defending. Week after week after week. Someone has to take the blame for that. (we started with 7 full international caps today despite the injuries).

We surrendered in embarrassing style to a mid table lower league team last week, effectively ruining our season - and were treated to Gray, O'Hora etc playing lip service to that shit show. "Let the fans down, Need to stand up and be counted, We'll show the real Hibs in the next game etc etc etc"

ABSOLUTE PISH.

They looked even less interested today and, amazingly, played even worse. Make no mistake about today - we were absolutely pumped. Falkirk could've/ should've scored another 4 or 5.

Simply not good enough.

Change is required now. Massive change. There's not a chance in the world those players, such as they are, are playing for the management, coaching staff OR fans.

Get all the non trying and not good enough *&*^ the fuck.

I do think a manager should have the main day on their back room staff, but to pick a goalie coach to be the main voice, Liam Craig who had minimal experience, and Eddie May who didn’t want to really be there, is mad. It’s shown, David doesn’t really have expertise to turn to when games are going against us.

I'm afraid today's performance was all too predictable. After last week's Cup fiasco, I posted a list of Just Back headlines going back months, all of which were negative. The problems we saw today are just a continuation.

We appear to have a manager and backroom staff who have managed to make our squad look worse players than we know they can be. That's a recipe for disaster.

No point in waiting to change the off-field personnel. The season is already effectively over, and continuing this pattern will only cause further damage in terms of attendances, season ticket sales and other revenue sources.

I do, which is kind of my point… a good coaching staff would help him, instead he clearly makes the same mistakes over and over. Playing against Hibs is easy, everyone knows what we’re going to do.

Tbh Hibs shouldn't be a club where a player learns to be a manager.
Imho it's only a matter of time before he goes .

I just reckon if he continues to do well with M’well a club ‘bigger’ than Hibs might come for him eg England Championship.

I think overall he and the coaches are a complete failure, McKay should be emptied also along with them. Gray chose them all as in the coaches, he promoted a goal keeping coach to be shouting instructions to outfield players.

It’s not but no one said a word when were 18 unbeaten last season.
It’s been a shite week but we were 5 unbeaten in the league before today and that was with players away at Afcon and injuries.

If we make top 6 (4th or 5th preferably for Europe) then historically DG will have done better than most in the last 25 years.

Just don’t see the point in punting a manager now when 4th is the highest achievable this season anyway.

Helpful if Malky gets us a RB and striker this week.

Lennon already had possibly the best midfield in my lifetime tbf, went downhill when SJM left but he’s no replaceable whatever you spend.

We’ve always looked soft in recent years tho, does my nut in.

That said, another statistic. We’ve been back in the top league for eight seasons. Our average points haul in those eight seasons is 52.75, last year we got 58. The third highest in those eight years. So a very decent season, but not sure when you look at it coldly like that it’s as great a season as it’s made out to be.

His cup record as a manager is stinking.

I wish he’d been a rip roaring success, he’s not been unfortunately. Given what he means to us all for his previous contributions, I’d be genuinely gutted if his legacy was tarnished by staying in the role for too long. For me, the time for him to go is, regrettably, now.

He did equal the 70 yr unbeaten run of our greatest ever team and has a good derby record, swings and roundabouts.

See what the next 3 games bring 🤞💚
