IAIN VIGURS snubbed Rangers to join Motherwell because he didnt want to step back in time.
The former Inverness and Ross County star had the chance to sign for Gers and was also wanted by Oldham.
But the prospect of European football convinced the midfielder SunSports Ross County Top Man for last term to join Stuart McCalls side.
Vigurs said: Id made up my mind to move on from Ross County, even though Id really enjoyed my time there.
Ally McCoist spoke to my agent a few times but Id said from the start I wasnt willing to drop down a division. I played in Division Three with Elgin and had two seasons in Division One with County, so I felt Id spent enough time at lower levels.
Rangers are obviously a massive club but it wouldnt have mattered how much money they threw at me.
I just wanted to play at as high a level as I could.
