Last weekend, Gary Caldwell was shown the red card, after Exeter had a late goal disallowed away at Lincoln City. He went over to the fourth official, who thought Caldwell was “aggressive”, but his defence was that Jen (his wife) “complains all the time, how I am aggressive to her, to the kids, to the dog-I think it is the Scottish accent”
“My accent and my Scottishness is aggressive , but yeah I got sent off for that”
Caldwell had received a red-card in January, against Wycombe Wanders.

Well Gary, your wife, kids and dog think you’re a :a----: so maybe the fourth official was right?

As a long-time Scot in NL I'm still amazed at how I am perceived as 'aggressive' or 'waspish' with my superdiluted 40 yr old Embra accent.
