What channel are they doing that on Col?

Got tickets for the return leg at White Hart Lane.

After that scoreline, I fear it may be a rather pedestrian affair.

No Bale in the ITV Euro cup then, we wont be able to play Bale Cliche Bingo.

The last time they pumped nobodies away from home in Europe like that they managed to draw 0-0.....

I see what you did there :077:

Brought back memories for me of being in Georgia with the Trotskys and visiting Tblisi's stadium and finding out the loos really weren't, erm, fit for purpose. :doh
Then went to buy a drink to keep my hydration levels up and the gadgies selling the stuff wouldn't sell me it. Insisted on giving it away for free because, as a northern european, we were exotic species to a nation that, at that time, had experienced little in the way of tourism. That and the fact nobody gave a monkeys about their bosses stock because most people worked in state influenced or run organisations.

Difference this time though FJ, looking at the spuds squad, thats still goany be a strong 2nd string this time imo. Pains me to say it, they have a great looking squad, just need to get balance right in the midfield imo, and they should have a good season!
Come on tae feck Arsene, getting spending man :giggle:

I couldn't help but laugh at the sun today.

The title of the article read "Arsenes worst nightmare" and the article was about him getting a extra 25million for the transfer kitty

:giggle:

Its thoroughly depressing Darren mate, the guy just cannot spend friggin money, even when every man and his dug can see Arsenal need major investment in the playing squad ffs!!!!!

Get to see the next crop of younger players no doubt.

I was at the Espanyol game (which was another pedestrian affair) and was very impressed by Townsend who's broken into the team from their academy. He looks a really skillful but also very strong and assertive player.

Watched him a couple times on telly, as many of Spurs youngsters are he's another very talented player and could be a good replacement for Bale after watching him in Europe the other night, impressive talented young guy. :thumbgrin

He was indeed very impressive

Rumours of a Man Utd bid.

would be good if it was cash plus Wayne Rooney. That would piss Chelsea off!!

I don't think Rooney would go to Tottenham.

This transfer 'saga' is starting to get interesting though, wonder who the other European club are :hmmm Can only be Monaco or PSG.

Aye, he's on his holidays!! :drinking:

Aye I noticed that yesterday :doh don't understand the extended holiday for him though.. Imagine every injured player got to go to Marbella for a week.

Gianluca Di Marzio has tweeted telling the entire world that Bale to Madrid has been finalised at 75m

Surely no :hmmm

So that's what... 86/87 million euros?

Eric Lamela has just signed for Tottenham... If I was a Spurs fan I'd be waving bye to Bale right about now..

Are they no deid yet?

Oops i'm getting my "bored of" stories mixed up

He was on loan with Millwall a couple of years ago and was a standout at Championship level. There was talk a deal being made permanent, but he seems to have worked really hard to get himself in contention for a starting place at Spurs. Unlike a lot of English kids he seems happy with the ball at his feet and can pick a pass as well as take men on.

He played OK last night but got hooked at half time. I don't think he get enough of the ball from his team mates who preferred to play through Holtby who, whilst skillful, seems a bit of a fan dancer more likely to loose possession through his trickery that to create a chance. Townsend is altogether more direct.

90 million quid. It's fukking obscene :banger:

100M euros
86M

Mental

FIFAs financial fairplay rules haven`t quite kicked in yet then. :coffee:

Real Madrid, a club with a reputed debt of around 500 million quid are being allowed to "spend" 90 million on a player. Obsene doesn`t even begin to describe it.

They're looking set to sell Ozil for close to 50m to ARSENAL!!??? Can't believe it :giggle:

And the rest they need to make up will either be a cash injection, or one of their sponsors.
They take near to 50% of his image rights too, so everything Bale advertises etc they score a big number... Its all just a dirty game. (Ronaldo is rumoured to be negotiating a big contract, which gives him his own image rights too)

Man City, after hearing the financial fair play rules, injected something like 200M to make their figures match up.

Just shows that there's no way for them to control money without putting a cap on it, everything has a loop hole.

I`m just about old enough to remember when football was still a working class game played by honest professionals who`s take home pay wasn`t that far from anyone elses. Football at the top level has become incredibly greedy, corrupt and, as far as i`m concerned anyway, very distasteful.

85 million, 6 year deal on 300K a week...for saving lives, running a nation or a multinational company?

Naw, for working part time and kicking a ball :red:

How have we come to this?

Spain is bankrupt and Real Madrid dish out 100m for a footballer. It's sick

The occupy protestors could do worse than picket football clubs

I'd be over the moon with an average Hibs players wages, can't imagine being on an EPL wage never mind elite club wages.

It's disgusting how much money is in this sport.
We're all exploited because we love this sport, it's disgusting.

Seemingly 6000 young Spaniards came to Edinburgh for work last year - the second fastest growing group of economic migrants after the Poles - and this number can be scaled up for national impact. Their biggest football club meanwhile pays a Welsh tourist enough to employ thousands of their own kids. Football - and footballers -are ruined

How much do Hibs players earn?
