Freaky dress that is different colours to different people

This is mental - saw this on telly earlier and wondered wtf people were on about as the dress was clearly blue and black. But I've just seen another report and now I see it as white and gold while the missus sees it as blue and black. Weird as feck.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-31656935

That's very strange. I'm as confounded as you my friend.

Initially I wasn't even sure was it a dress or maybe Mount Fuji dressed as a cat. Or an inside out octopus masquerading as an umbrella. It having taken place in the highlands I find it my duty to investigate.

Conclusions : 99% of the human race are un-bel-fkn-eivably stupid. I don't even consider myself intelligent but they're almost all, quite clearly, far more stupid than me. I'll have to ask Taylor Swift and Kanye West to confirm that though before it has any validity in our national press.

It gets weirder when I screw my eyes up it goes blue black and then stays that way for a while.

I'm seeing it as lilac and brown. The rest of youse are counts! :approve:

Like the middle one here 7h? I've seen all of these now ! The right hand side is its true colour. I'm now seeing it as you do after the screwing up my eyes bit fading away.

Yes. Yes, I can see why the BBC would report on this issue.

I mean, it's clearly lilac and aubergine you fkn idiot EGB, but that's not the underlying issue here, is it? This runs deeper. I'm going to have to think for a bit but here's the latest from UKIP;

"We have nothing against the blue and gold, clearly we don't. Our members may be ex national front and full of hatred but that fkn dresses have never had a job in their life and don't appreciate true British values. All we want's a fair society."

"(I've used an racist word) ****s", said their second in command to Farrage. "Wouldn't know a dress if they seen it."

"Our leader's married to a German though, so that's alright", reported their second in command fkn **** with a swastika tatooed on his forehead.

Trying a bit hard old bean. It's midnight on Friday - let your hair down.

Ps if you google the subject their is proper learning to be had on how eyes work and the differences between individuals in that respect. But then again, it's midnight Friday...

I'm not even slightly trying. And, with all due respect, I'm pretty sure I let my hair down more than you tomodachi.

I hugely abused acid in my 20s and researched the subject subsequently, I know how eyes work pal. The only people I ever look down on are people that look down on me. Managerial position now and everyone that's ever worked for me will know I don't ever look down. Any **** looks down on me though... well. That's just about all my patience can take.

I feel a thread coming on....

Seriously lol its a fuckin dress, who gives a shit what colour it is? Lol I have found this whole thing so mental this last 24 hrs, watching as social media goes radge wie people arguing about this lol lol

This thread makes a nice change from me being open to the accusation of taking things too seriously !

Don't get sarcastic with Mr. Sarcastic pal. Learn your limitations.

Accepting that one of my limitations is not to completely know my limitations, I think I broadly know my limitations. Trading on movie quotes is not one.

Ps the thread was about an - I thought - interesting optical quirk, not an existentialist drama. If it's all played out on book face I apolgise. Not my stomping ground.

THIS.

You know, it is hard enough engaging people with science - "too hard", "too dry" or "too boring", I've heard it all.

So ANY reasonable way of getting folk talking about a scientific phenomenon, even if it is only people wondering at the colour of a dress is fantastic. I can guarantee that science teachers on Monday morning will have class after class coming in and saying "did you see that dress on the internet at the weekend sir/miss? How does that work?" and that is brilliant news. I'm already ready for it with a wee powerpoint knocked up to explain the science, with some more examples of the phenomenon, for that eventuality.

Loving it :thumbgrin

Yep - same as the middle one. I saw the true colour of the dress on TV last night, pretty freaky effect!
