How the mighty have fallen.

Prime BBC1 coverage, to prime ITV coverage, to part time BBC coverage when Sky came in with their bucks, to part time Channel 4 coverage.

Those in charge of the sport chasing money has meant reduced coverage and reduced viewing figures around the world.

Teams are struggling to get sponsors never mind the unlimited sponsorship of the glory days of unlimited coverage.

They can fuck about with the cars, tyres, the format of qualifying and mincey wee radio changes all they like but unless they get back to full coverage on free to view telly this is a dying spectacle.

Lights go out 5 am on Sunday.

Get shot of these hi tech, fuel saving, eco based units & get back the v8/v10/v12 screamers for starters.

The WEC does the Eco stuff better ,& more varied than F1 anyway.& its better to watch.

But , as you rightly say Jack, PPV is killing it.

Set up Scalextric, put all the cars on the same track and off you go - Formula one boringly re-enacted in the safety and comfort of your living room.

Suzi will go where Auntie tells her to go!

If only Suzi would go where I tell her to go.

There was a piece on BBC Newsroom Live which mentioned that SKY are taking over broadcasting Formula 1 and are putting it on a "free to air" channel. I'm not sure of the difference between "free to air" and "free to view" if indeed there is any difference at all.
