Some of these I get, others I'm really struggling to get my head around.. had to reread more than once to dimly see what is meant.

Sure there are better football technicians here who can shine a a light or offer structured criticism?

Like the subs one (mostly) myself, others (handball) clear as mud!

Said for years the handball in the penalty box rule is appalling and needs to be changed. Saturdays Champions League Final penalty award is just the latest in the long line of absurdities caused by the official ruling. Only an extremely small amount of players who handle the ball in the penalty box do so deliberately. An indirect free-kick in the box should be given for accidental hand ball such as in about 98% of cases. When it is clearly deliberate (ie a dive to stop the ball going into the net, or a clear attempt to move the ball with the hand) then a penalty should be awarded. The current rules (including this latest change which is just going to make matters worse IMO) are just not for for purpose and is just going to cause more and more anger especially when VAR is introduced in all the top leagues.

Completely agree and there’s been a few of them this season, Spurs were on the wrong end of one in the first leg v City too. Can kill the game and if it persists it’ll make me switch off. Not a huge fan of VAR in its current guise anyway.
