Embdy been? I am generally a sceptic of these 'premium' burger places given their association with the dark world of hipster. However this place has been a favourite of mine on adventures on the other side of the pond, and so I went to the one at fort kinnaird the other day,

Splendid it is too, and given its placement in a shopping park is full of families rather than fey tattooed beardies. However it did piss me off that over here it's priced in line with that whole premium thing, whereas in North America it's priced as street food iirc.

Recommended; to counter the price tag, I would advise that - if accompanying burgers - one portion of fries will probably do a family unless particularly fat bar stewards are in the party. Thank me later or out yourself as a pie guzzling bassa.

Aye.Cannae stand McDonalds/Burger King so initially was a compromise with 16 year old daughter who really is part of the McDonalds church. Not a fan of the Cajun fries though, they put too much seasoning on them for me.

I've been to the sit in branch in Glasgow, expensive but a damn fine Cheeseburger

If you're down that London maybe try out Patty and Bun. Certainly started life hipster-ish (they used to sell them at a pop-up bar round the back of my Dalston office so can't get much more twattish) but they were - and probably still are - seriously good. Now in Liverpool St I believe.

Homemade Hamburger Co. at Ocean Terminal is way superior! Even Eds Diner is better, imo of course

This surprises me lad. Went in once and considered leaving half way thru.Seriously garbage food. I wasn't even expecting much as pretty much all the gaffs up at the Fort are generic bland places, but I found it seriously bad.

very popular here in ATL. prices are reasonable but not cheap.

I prefer Yeah Burger, not sure if they have made it over the pond yet :dunno:

@egb mibbe try this place if you like a burger too:

Thanks. They're doing websites wrong; try as I might I couldn't find out from their site where they are! Anyway Google tells me forth street.

The burgers look a bit thick for my liking, like you get in posh restaurants, where I feel a good burger is thinner so it doesn't overwhelm the bun and other components - tis all in the balance.

However I shall give it a try if the opportunity presents, thanks

Do you get In N Out there? That was a small highlight of a trip I made to California a couple of years ago.

As long as Wetherspoon's charge under 6 for a burger that comes with a pint of Guinness included in George St there's not a chance in hell I'll ever pay 15 for a burger and coca cola in Niddrie.

Sounds like excellent value for money.

That a hamburger has become "gourmet" food is testament to the power of advertising. 15 quid for a burger ?!

At 1.50 a Deuchers you can get a burger with various toppings, chips, onion rings and 7 refreshing pints in the centre of town for same price as that Frankie & Benny's knock off in a retail park.

'Mon the Spoons!

I love the highlander option with great beefburger, piece of haggis and some whisky sauce...

As you say great value!
