It's that time again
First up Cellik who play Feyenoord
To celebrate finishing 4th in the group stages for the 3rd in the last 4 season they have released a new European song

The very good Iwata off injured and replaced by the sub standard Bernardo.
Strange game, no matter the result Cellik finish 4th in the group and Feyenoord 3rd.

Penalty tims.
I suppose in the absence of der hun, that's logical.

Feyenoord are far sharper and more likely to score than this Celtic team half of whom are very average players in Bernardo, Michael Johnston, Welsh, Scales and Taylor. Missing the Japanese 3 of Maede, Hetate and now Iwata.

Back to the appalling John Hartson and the boring cloying Rob McLean on TNT Sport

Tonight it Aberdeen and Rangers turn
First up Aberdeen

Frankfurt beat Bayern Munich 5-1 at the weekend
At half time tonight, Aberdeen are beating Frankfurt 1-0!
They won't hang on but it's a good effort.

could be a great week for Scottish football especially with the coefficient kings up next
Aberdeen and Celtic's wins this week have been massively welcome.
The Scottish coefficient is in dire straits after a disaster last season and it's only slightly better this season due to Celtic not securing 3rd again in their Chapions League group.
We have dropped from 9th to 10th this season but the big picture is we will lose our high coefficient for season 2019/20 in the summer and that could see us fall as far as 16th when next season starts which is the last place that gets 5 teams.
Celtic have barely contributed for 4 seasons now.
A very unlikely Rangers win tonight is needed for Scotland to add any further points this season. They need to match Pragues result against the Cypriots this season

Lammers wanders about like a fart in a trance.
Tavernier getting ripped apart.

The Huns would drop into the Conference if they lose, wouldn't they? Still plenty of opportunities to pick up coefficient points

Your right. I didn't realise that.
They are better in the Conference in that case although there would be bonus points for qualifying in their Europa group.
2-2 tonight and Rangers have attacked well but defended horrendously.
They should have had a man marker on Isco to shut down the supply.
My money is on Rangers blinking first in the 2nd half tonight.

This can only be redeemed if rangers get papped out 10-0 in the next round and betis wins the conference

Think that's Rangers done. Will get cuffed next time out.
Scotland started the week with only 4 coefficient points but this week we have moved up to a respectable 6.2 points which is a more than 50% improvement.

Beating Real Betis away last night and qualifying for the last 16 of the Europa Cup was a great result for the huns no matter what way you look at it. They will probably lose in the next round but they have done well.
Aberdeen done well to beat Eintracht Frankfurt, and they will have made over a million by winning that game alone and about £6 Million from their Conference League participation. That has to be Hibs ambition from now on in.

Fucking hell - is that accurate?! If that's the case, I can totally see why trying to secure 3rd each season is an attainable and attractive goal

The huns won their group so I assume they'll be playing a team that finished 2nd? Every chance they can win that round. They seem to over perform in this competition no doubt helped by 50,000 rabid dugs each home leg, wouldn't surprise me if they got to quarters/semis.

Apparently abersheep got 500k for winning last night so assume it's about 170k per point? We'll make £1.7m from next seasons group stage

Next season there won't be a group stage. Not like we know it.

It's massive league table, where we'll play 5 teams.
Top 20 teams move on or something like that
Then the next 12 or something play in a playoff, to then rejoin the competition in the later stages.

Plenty room to make a fortune.

There will also be another payout for Aberdeen.
Prize money when teams draw doesn add up to a win/loss award, so excess prize money gets split between all clubs in the group stages based on their wins.

More draws in the tournament, the more extra money available.

Either way it's all good when we piss 3rd place this season

£500k for a win and £250k for a draw, plus gate money and other matchday incomes for home games plus UEFA prize money.
Sure Hearts after expenses made £3million last season from Europe and presume Aberdeen will make a similar amount this season.

Participation in the group stages of the europa conference league gets you €2.9M
A win gets you €500k
A draw gets you €166k

Plus the €500k from the europa play off defeat.

Not sure what you get from a group stage loss, probably around €60k

I'm sure next season you play in 8 matches if you land in the conference league proper.
But I think there's less teams playing.
They've not announced prize money, but it goes up as they're making shit tonnes more money.
