It’s gotten piss over the last few years. Just mechanical shite crap. Was always for Barca over the establishment but they are just as bad now. Got a draw and catterall to lose tho for some interest

I only know a few of the FCB players these days - but I've been impressed with them so far.

I think I’m right in saying that Atletico were more the Francoista club until Real became all conquering and the generalissimo did what politicians do and switched to the successful side.

I think people accused them of being francos team after they merged with an air force team after the Spanish civil war.

There’s lots of quirks like this; Roma, not Lazio, being out together by Mussolini’s regime for example. One reason among many why I think trying to align football clubs with politics is a bit daft. The Huns are the only club I know of in Western Europe where I think you could can genuinely do it.

Camp Nou regulars (or former rather) like @1875 could I’m sure tell us of the Boixos Nois who didn’t really fit the British idea of Barca.

Anyway, I completely agree with your original point. I used to have a soft spot for Barca, though not more than that - in contrast to the bold 1875 who was actually an attending supporter. But these days they scunner me more than most. They resemble Celtic actually in their po faced self mythologising while being a big money grubbing machine. Obviously, unlike Celtic they are a significant club on the world stage, but the similarities are there imho.

Barca sold their soul aswell imo unfortunately. Football obviously has changed and it's a huge commercial and financial industry now. That's why I love Scottish football tbh. It may be shite but it's raw and it's passionate. Its real football to me. I don't even watch the EPL tbh all money and plastic fans.

It was a great game of football by two really good teams with skill and endeavour, playing entertaining football way above the standard of the EPL, which I also watch and on a different stratosphere from the crap SPL 👍👏🇪🇸

Maybe if Scottish clubs were allowed to get into over a billion pounds of debt (Barca) and have the biggest turnover in the world almost every year (real - and God knows what they have going on with the Spanish government) Scottish football would be a similar standard
