Just bought myself an ebike but was wondering if anyone on here knows much about them...im wondering if a bigger battery would be worth investing in. Would it give more power or simply a longer ride time.... its a carrera vengence

You'd get a longer ride time with a bigger battery.

If you want more oomph you'd need to get a bigger motor or change a magnet I think.
There are people that have theirs "chipped" I know folk who fly around on theirs at 30, 40mph easy.

At that speed you would need a braking system upgrade

I have one to aid me getting up hills. Every model of E-Bike is a little different in terms of accessories you can buy. Don't think I've got the option of a higher powered battery but that said I probably wouldn't need it.

I'd suggest testing the bike out a bit and seeing how much battery you actually use. It'll depend on the terrain you're riding on, your weight, whether you're going up hills or flat ground etc. More powerful battery if available will just be a longer ride I'd have thought.

Ebikes aren't for me, I get little enough exercise, need to make the most of what I do.

I think they're good though, letting serious cyclists to go further and enabling older cyclists get out properly. I do have a slight problem with the wee bams near me zipping about on the cycle path at 40 mph but that's nothing a length of cheese wire won't solve.
