Digs

Youngest son Cammy (16) is a season ticket holder, excellent footballer and aspiring sports science student. He is about to go into fifth year at school but is booked in to take the first set of his SFA coaching badges Monday 14/07 to Friday 18/07 inclusive at the Edinburgh University sports pitches at Peffermill, Edinburgh.

During the week he lives with his mum in Crieff (I live in Perth with my wife) and the logistics of getting from Crieff to Peffermill and back every day are considerable. To make sure he is spared a five hour round trip I've been looking at B&B's. However it's not every B&B that wants a parentless 16 year old and to be honest I'm a bit concerned that he might be a bit lonely. Don't get me wrong he is a level headed independent guy for his age but likes being around people.

So I was wondering if any Hibee family who live within a 30/45 minute bus ride to Peffermill would consider a clean, respectable lodger from the evening of Sunday 13th to 8am on Friday 18th July. I know it's a long shot but I'd be happy to pay 5 nights room and board for the peace of mind of knowing he is in good hands. He wouldn't be any bother at nights except he is prone to going out on the prowl for a bounce game on a summer evening.

Any discreet PM's welcome

What courses is he on?

SKII Jnr is doing some "badges" (though they're not that it's hard not to call them that) during the same week I think?

Sadly, can't offer digs due to other visitors but it may be he is on the same course and can be a fellow Hibee friendly face. Ask Hattie, as he's met his boy too - I don't think he bites :giggle:

SFA Coaching pathways Levels 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3

When we are on holiday Cammy goes out the door and comes back 5 minutes later with a new 'mate'. He always wears a Hibs top under his strip so he won't be hard to spot. He's about 5'11' slim, dark hair with olive skin. Cool dude unlike his old man. :dali:

Just spoken to my boy - he looked out for your lad and they got on well. He's even seemingly asked him if he'd like a game of 5 asides tonight with his pals from his part-time job :thumbgrin

Thanks Tricky. He will be staying in Crieff until 2016 but I will keep you in mind if he secures a place at Edinburgh Uni

It was a kind offer. Turned out Cammy was shattered after 4 shifts acting as guinea pigs for the trainee coaches. Apparently the older less fit guys could sit out the sessions and it took a toll on the younger guys that were there for the week. He absolutely loved the course run by Keith Wright and our new Ladies Coach Chris Roberts. The best bit was the video made of the charming Chinese lad on the left who said that he had adopted Edinburgh as his second home because the people here are lovely and the sun shines every day!
