Anyone would think they were trying to hide something

yep, especially as there appears to be no reason given for the sudden decision...and the history...The New Zealand high court judge - selected after two previous chairwomen quit - said the probe had already made "very real gains for victims".

I realise most people prefer a woman loooking into the enquiry...but is there a male dominance stopping them making headway, or is it too distressing? very strange

Child sex abuse inquiry: Judge Lowell Goddard quits - BBC News

edit....wait a minute...this seems a scandal in itself...13 July 2015 - Dame Lowell's pay is revealed as more than £480,000 a year
November 2015 - inquiry begins hearing directly from victims and survivors
4 August 2016 - Dame Lowell writes to Home Secretary Amber Rudd to resign from her post

so she has made 500k from the public purse...less taxes presumabely but probably pumped up again with expenses...and yet she resigns before actually seeing anything through

Too hot to handle?

Get someone from the establishment to investigate the establishment?

I can see where there might be problems.

Stuff that is not wanted to be seen by the public from the establishment no doubt.
