Daesh or Islamic State?

Saw this today where journalists and politicians are being lobbied to stop calling IS well IS.

The people fighting them say "Islamic State" dignifies them and gives them credibility they dont deserve.

Opposition fighters call them Daesh throughout Middle East - pronounced Da-ish - which translates as "bigots" or " those who trample".

Daesh sound about right to me.

I agree with your points. I posted about this some time back, and have tried to stick with ISIL ever since on the basis that it denies their universalist claims, and uses the western rather than arabic term for the Levant (hence ISIL over ISIS). Daesh is even better for the reasons you give, but I suspect will cause too much confusion as too few know it.
