Was reading about the Rambo knives and how they're still being sold online for 60/70 quid by legitimate sites.
Full blown zombie carvers that leaves you with next to no chance of survival.
So we should all be able to agree on that being wrong.

But then I found out you can buy crossbows legally!! Why would anyone need a crossbow?
Repeating, recurve, heavy duty go right through you types.

I know there's limited hunting here, but I could buy one right now. 80 quid, crossbow. 😳

That's spooky!
I went back from Dublin on the Holyhead ferry and I thought of that random crossbow killer on Anglesey, roundabout Covid time. That made the news in Korea. Did they not catch the guy because telemetrics showed the boot of his car opening a minute or so before he killed the random victim? Maybe it was a Korean car🤔.
Anyway, aye, they are lethal.
Unless they become the weapon of choice of reasonable numbers of criminals, the government won't see a problem.
There is a problem in that I assume archery is still pretty popular in the UK and crossbows are sold at the same stores. Easier to conceal a crossbow then a longbow, admittedly, but can't exactly hide one under a denim jacket. I'd be surprised if they didn't sell potentially lethal catapults at the same stores.
I've no idea how long it would take to master accuracy with a sling, but there are lads that can kill someone at 100m, David v Goliath style, with a sling and a stone.
Archery was very popular in Kuala Lumpur when I had the misfortune to work there for 14 months in 1992/93. Several expats wanted me to join in. The Anglo-Indian in KL that I was still in contact with until I abandoned social media was good at it. It was popular amongst natives in KL too.
It's popular in Seoul too, but I didn't mix with expats there as much as in KL or Bangkok (can't remember seeing any archery stores in Bangkok🤔) and I didn't know anyone into it in Seoul. No idea what the law says on bows & crossbows in KL, Bangkok or Seoul... or Scotland.

There's been a handful of incidents tbf.
Funny you mention slings, they're all sold out on the same website. I've seen videos of people who would definitely be lethal with a sling, I've seen a guy with a bit of ribbon and a whip looking thing, launching rocks at what looks and sounds like supersonic speeds. So aye, anything can be lethal in the right hands.

Some of these you load up 6 or 7 bolts, and it fires quick fire. I do find it mental I could just buy that cheaper than and as easily as a camera.

Bit overkill for the archery club 😅

You’re always going get people who randomly or serially kill with bows and crossbows…………………..I noticed an article on line the biggest murder weapon is the car.

Think I may have said on here before, but an ex foreman of mine killed his 4 children and himself with a crossbow

I mind when I lived in London years ago a geezer got jailed for an assault using one of these. And they are still on sale now apparently.....

Our range of flails are designed for display only. They feature wooden shafts with leather wrapped grip. The metal chain and balls certainly have the feel of their medieval counterparts but are liable to cause serious injury if used for anything but display.

"Gotta do a little S&M these days."🏳️‍🌈

As a kid my pal was showing me his brother's crossbow.. he was messing around pointing it at me then a second later it went off and the bolt shot across the room and right into his bedroom door...put a small hole in one side and a tennis ball size hole on the other.. I'll never forget the slap his mum gave him.
