Contract

Verbal contract in the workplace? Never had anything like this myself or heard about it before is it common?

Not common, but possible.
Problem is the obvious one of substantiating the terms agreed - unless of course it was recorded. Or better still written down!

As is often said, a verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's not written on.

Sorry just realised the reply. Cheers for that mate the Mrs was having a bit of a nightmare with her boss at the time.

She was told if she moved to nightshift she was guaranteed 40 hours. This never happened. They also sent her home when she was on the rota and never contacted her again. Luckily got through to head office who told her their records showed she didn't have a job anymore. Still got her holiday pay sorted.

Sounds like a shit place to work. Better off out of it IMO.

Yep that's Amazon. 2 agency's in the one in Livingston I worked with one she worked with the other. Weekly pay took 5 for me to get any. And they sacked me for a conviction (bop) I told them about in the sign up interview .
