Seldom counted among the top tier, although tbf probably noted in next rung down. But what a man. 94 and counting and a career spanning superior exploitation flicks to a second life as quite a serious director.

This guardian article is a reminder of the breadth of his career.

I’ve been a big fan of Clint Eastwood for years and watch and rewatch some of his classic movies over and over again, the Dirty Harry movies, Unforgiven, Gran Torino and my all time favorite The Outlaw Josey Wales. And funnily enough, just today I was reading about its production and the controversy about how Eastwood became director and the resulting “Eastwood law”. And digging deeper, he’s a bit of a funny bugger. His treatment and that of Warner Bros of Sondra Lock was shameful and his general attitude towards women is a bit iffy.

As an actor I suppose he's ok. Got plenty work over the years.
An ex girlfriend knew him vaguely through her work and said he was known as an angry bugger with a short fuse. During one holiday she took me to the Hog's breath inn as he was going to be there that day. Sure enough he was there but looked pretty busy. She introduced me and told him I was from Scotland. Without looking at me he said "enjoy your holiday" and left.
My short but maybe not so sweet meeting with Clint.

Some of his movies are a good watch. But dosent he just play the same character in everyone?

I would say from what I've seen I'd say one dimensional but I'm not a big fan so could be wrong.
That argument can be made , but at least in my opinion, that’s what makes his body of work as director stand out. Actors known for playing a tough guy all the time don’t tend to do that.

Back in the 1970s he was in Kirkcaldy!

A girl work colleague of mine, who was a fan and lived there, literally ran into him. Said he was a real gentleman once they both got over the shock.

I like a lot of his filums 😆

Filums. Speaking about her reminded me that how she said films. I think its a Scottish thing 🤔
